What the hell? Damn, I hope the instructor survived this. Looked like he was hit in the leg or hip?

Any more info on this story?

Holy crap! Can't make out what he was trying to do??

I don't see an exit wound in the fuckers back. Seems weird since he shot himself point blank in the chest.

Bullets do weird things when they encounter flesh and bone. His angle of approach on the shot was back and to the left, pointed slightly down. My guess would be it came out more on his side, which we never see.

Things that make you say, "WTF?"

Looked like he decided he didn't want to shoot himself square in the chest at the last minute (or the gun just twisted on him) and it ended up not being a major wound for the shooter? He sure was calm and deliberate after. Hard to see what exactly happened there. Wonder what ended up happening?

What I found most surprising was the instructors immediate flight response and how a loaded gun was within his reach (that the shooter dropped), and yet the instructor was just looking at it and him instead of securing the gun. Also, why was the instructor not armed? Why did he not immediately draw in case that was not an accident and more shots were forthcoming? Makes me wonder what my own response would actually be vs what I see from this armchair yard-line.

That guy was way too calm for having just shot himself. Looks like the shot to himself was intentional. As far as the instructor goes, it looks like after he flees for a second, he tries to get between the shooter and the gun. Sucks for the instructor and I hope he's alright.

What an idiot.

Why not just close the garage and turn the car on until you fall asleep permanently?

I ageee with Foxtrot on the instructor not seeing the student as a threat, hence his flee response. It'd be interesting to see what a DA sees if the instructor HAD drawn on the student and fired his weapon in his defense.

Can't be sure the gun is still loaded. Looks like the instructor goes for the gun then stops. Maybe it was in slide lock?

Kind of looks like a limp wrist jam and trying to use the opposing force method to rack it...with finger on trigger. Once that gun came off target, the RSO should be taking control. Don't know what happened at all, just form seeing the video.

Looked intentional to me. 9mm FMJ doesn't leave large wound tracks or entry/exit wounds.

Ditto, that was a suicide attempt.

A youtube version would be better so you could slow mo it. But he pretty deliberately places the barrel on his chest then fires. I don't see any attempt to clear a anything. And why would he need to clear if it was ready to fire. If he was a learner he would not have had that kind of fast reaction paired with trying to do something high speed mall ninja like the reverse whatever your suggesting.

Just looking at him he looks like the kinda scrawny self hating fag that either is a pervert or suicidal

After reviewing the youtube version at 1/4 speed, that's what I see, but it's a tough call.

The RSO did take the gun out of his hand but dropped it. It did appear to be in slide lock.

Completely intentional. Looks like an attempted heart shot with muzzle pressed into chest. Gun goes out of battery it seems. At the 0.07sec mark the instructor slaps pistol to the ground. That's what I saw anyways.

Looks like he was trying to shoot himself in the middle of the chest and he puts his left hand on the back of the slide to hold in there . . . but that causes the gun to go at an angle. So he shoots himself kid of diagonally and then it hits the instructor?
