Downtown Colo Spgs is looking crazy with all the wind damage.
Had friends out making deliveries observing: tree fallen on car near the museum, Cops out with shields helping deflect falling objects so people can clear the area, smashed windows.
Might be a good day to stay in for lunch .

Be safe out there !!!

A lot of neighborhood fences down on my way to work. Mother in law was coming down to visit and was so windy she couldn't get beyond Tomah road.

I should have taken the kite, would have saved gas.

Word I got was the El Paso County Courthouse has debris flying off the roof, they closed it down for the day and had to help protect people from all the stuff flying off it as they evac'd the building.
Sounds crazy as best !

As I was coming back after a sucessful search for our trash and recycle cans, I got stopped dead in my tracks by a gust.

Fences blown down all across town and as said before, trampolines galore!

Trampolines are blowing away in my neighborhood.

Think I saw a couple of those float by down here. They were on their way to Texas!

Lost about 30 feet of fence (well, not lost, just knocked over), gained a trashcan and a lot of trash. Looked at my new roof from the ground, don't see anything worrying. Someone from the roofing company will be out this week to make sure everything is still good, don't think we exceeded the wind ratings of our new roof.

Neighbor phoned me at work to tell me his trampoline went flying into my house. I think it will just require some touch-up paint but I'm not going to look. A colleague told me gusts up to 100 mph were recorded at Cheyenne Mountain. It has sounded crazy since about 2 AM ...

This is what I've been dealing with as I drive around and dodge idiots that don't understand how to treat traffic lights that are out.....

Fun times....

40+ downed poles 19k customers out of power.

I have some fence posts that have rotted away from their foundation. Was busy this morning pounding metal poles into the ground and shoring up those fence posts. Glad I did it at the time or the wind would have blown whole sections down. Need to get replaced one of these years.

Wind damaged my motorhome awning. I guess I will just have more aluminum scrap metal.

For once its NOT windy here. 5mph sustained and 7.5 gusts. Its a good thing, I dont think our neighbors barn can take much more after the last day of 65mph sustained winds.

Same for us for once. Kinda weird watching everyone else report issues with wind.

It was a balmy 63 today in Fort Collins, at 6:00 AM it was 53 and light winds. Mostly, up here, the ice is melting. It is a little breezy out but nothing dangerous, didn't even blow ove an empty trash can.

Well, home. Tons of fences down in the neighborhood, but we seem unaffected. Most of the downed fences are yards on the corners where there isn't a windbreak made by other houses.

Maybe the wind will change directions and blow it back ?!?!?

Spent an hour vacuuming the glass from our patio table out of our yard. The wind flipped the table over the patio bench, and then it exploded when it flipped. The umbrella was in the table, but it was down and tied shut....guess it didn't matter with this wind.

A buddy of mine's car was totalled by the wind ripping roof tiles off his apartment complex and hurling them at his car.

I came thru the Springs around noon and went thru the carnage. I counted 8 trucks on their side.
CHP at Mile marker 91 forcing all trucks off the road at 1:30 this afternoon.
My house 80 mph winds with gusts over 97 mph.
Lost all the shingles on the west side of my house

Not too bad here today. The interstate highways were closed to light and high profile vehicles. 30-40 mph winds. Gusts past 55.

Sorry to hear all you guys having property damage from the wind. That's a real bummer.

Coming south from Pueblo, we counted 12 semis on their sides, several small trailers as well. There were probably 30 or so power poles broken off on both sides of the interstate south of walsenburg. It appeared the train lost about five coal cars at MM28. It looked like they were empty. We got home to find the big pinion in our circle driveway laying in the wife's parking spot. I'm glad we took her her new car. If we hadn't, some how, some way, I'm sure it would have been my fault.

North Colorado Springs, tree in my side yard. It is (was) a good 15+ foot tree. Luckily it just missed the house and deck.

Who knew spontaneous tempered glass breakage was a thing. Went outside this morning and all drivers side glass was gone on my FJ. What a mess and I am not the only one as I can't get it fixed until Monday.

High winds carry small debris. Like those pointed escape hammers, if a small object hits your side window, your glass goes.

I remember dozens of cars losing their side windows one windy day at DEC in the mid-to-late 1980s. I snuggled up to the downwind side of a big van that day. :)

In addition, these high winds can create huge pressure differentials. We had several cases of car windows blowing out due to winds much less severe than we had yesterday when I was stationed at Cheyenne Mountain many many many moons ago.

WTH is it with evergreens? They have no root system whatsover. I saw one down in my neighborhood. It was an old/tall tree and the roots went down about two feet.[facepalm]

After only a few inches of soil it's just clay. Hard to expand, and few nutrients.

That and we just don't get any moisture around here so the roots stay shallow to get what little there is.

It'd be national news if this was in Miami and they'd name the event. There'd be reporters hanging onto light poles to report the news.

I can make a video from on top of a roof if you'd like. It hasn't been all that windy while I've been out though. :(
