I'm looking at two Bushmasters online. One out of state, and another down near Colorado Springs. Which should I go with? The 20" barrel "predator" model is more what I was looking for to save weight and barrel length. It's $900 and almost new. The 24" "varminter" model is the out of state one for $1200, but it has a nice scope and it all set up with the stock I like too. I think I'm going to go with the one for $1200 that is already set up how I want it. I know doing the FFL thing may be a pain and some extra money, but after I get the one for $900, I would have to put a lot more than the difference in price into it to make it the same thing. What do you guys think?

Go with the one for $1200 that is already set up the way you want it. At $1200 its a good buy. I have a RRA Predator pursuit with a very similar set up with the Magpul stock and I have $2k into mine. Woodland park is also quite the drive to you as opposed to having the other sent to a local FFL.

I'd go with the out of state. If its already set up for you, why change it? Also, I think it would cost you more to mod the instate AR to the same specs. Both are great rifles tho, let us know what you get, with pics!

Your looking at maybe $75 extra for the shipping costs and FFL transfer.

I personally have an FFL that does cheap transfers, so for me it is easier to do an FFL transfer and pay shipping. You can ship a rifle at USPS from Denver to NY for around $18 including insurance. YMMV

You guys confirmed what I was thinking. Thanks. If it all goes down I'll be part of the club soon! Haha. I know a gentleman right here in Boulder that does transfers that I have dealt with before.

I'm also with everyone else on this one. The $1200 is the one I'd go with. Even if he were to try to screw you, he indicates that he's an AD Army Officer which (if true - and I believe it is) offers you a chance at recourse.

why not have him ship the lower to your ffl and the rest of the package, via priority mail to your door ?

Why would that be better?

When you get either, make sure and have your favorite Gun Smith check them out. Have them check the chamber, gas key staking and all of the myriad of other things that Bushmaster typically fails to do correctly.

Pictures will be required once the weapon of choice is in your hands!

I must be slacking for not even thinking of this most appropriate response for these 2 badass rifles. [Beer][AR15][UZI]

Yeah but its not like your stuck with it. Get both and resell which ever you don't like. That way both will have a home in Colorado. But I can't decide either they both have their pros and cons.
