I have a couple friends who had their house broken into. A LOT of ammo and reloading supplies were stolen.

Cases of Reminton .38 spl wadcutters
Cases of PMC .223
Cases of Nosler 300 blk out 125gr black tip
Cases 9mm brown box military
Case of 100 PMAGS still in wrappers
2 10/22 Shilen barrels
1 .338 Shilen barrel blank
Cases 12 gauge ammo
Powder
Primers
Bullets
Reloading dies

If you see anything suspicious, please pm me or call Trinidad PD. 719-846-4441.

Thank you.

One is a younger military man who has been scrimping and saving trying to get into 3 gun competition. Great guy and he is devastated.

Sorry to hear. Can't imagine that will be easy to track down.

Holy shit! I'd wager that was definitely done by somebody that knew all that was there.

Hopefully the bastard feeds a 300blk round into a 223 AR

Keep an eye on arfcom, armslist, backpage, gunbroker, classifieds and any other barter sites close, including New Mexico.

They may be planning to keep it for themselves and friends, but likely at least some of it will go up for sale. Proof will likely be difficult, but it may yield some leads. Wouldn'rt hurt to walk the local gun shows in the immediate future, as well.

All around a sh**ty deal, but I agree with the "knowledge of contents" theory posted above. Should also keep a suspicious eye/ear on all friends, associates and acquaintances for good measure.

Let's say on an off chance this stuff actually gets recovered. I wonder if the original owner is going to have any problem getting those magazines back?

Might not hurt to reach out to forum members in NM, to ask them to keep eyes/ears open. I know there are at least two, and they are both good guys.

Big enough to maybe atf report?

That is enough that it probably took several trips in and out of the home to take it all...or multiple invaders. Someone knew this was there. Neighbor...friend...friend of a friend.

Was other things taken? Money...electronics...other valuables?

No other valuables that I know of. They left the electronics. It had to weigh a lot, so we figure a truck and probably multiple people. They haven't had a chance to do a full inventory yet, so i don't know what else is missing. It did get my butt in gear to put up my aecurity cameras and recorders.

If nothing else was taken then they were there for that and knew it was there. Either they were told about it or have been in the home and seen it.

ATF will not have any concern over a theft like this.

sounds like friends, kids' friends-someone that's been in the house or was aware due to owner talking

Might not be a bad idea to reach out to the gunsmith school too. They likely know a lot of people and could keep an ear out.

Real sorry to hear that! When someone breaks in and steals things from your home... you feel violated! To your GI friend...
Thanks for your service! God Bless!!

What did the younger military man get stolen specifically?

Pot was just made legal in CO less than a year before we moved out of the Trinidad area to Illinois There were a good number of burglarys and I had game cameras set up just in case we were robbed of my shooting related stuff. At least where we now live, there is much less chance of us getting hit but precautions are still being taken.

Were any bags of shot stolen? I had a Craigslist seller vanish last week the moment I suggested meeting in the police dept parking lot.
If your friend is missing bags of shot, let me know and I'll provide the police with some emails.

Sorry for the delay, it has been a rough couple days. I spoke with him and no shot was stolen. About 1/3 of the ammunition was recovered today at a local pawn shop. Hopefully, since they have names, they will be able to recover the rest of it.

An update, a lot of the ammo and supplies have been recovered. The last I heard, three people have been arrested and at least three more have warrants out for their arrest. A little bit of good news finally.

pawning off ammunition, there's a new one to me. That surely throws up a red flag.

Good news that some criminals are getting caught.

The ones arrested postal employees or random criminals or neighbors?

Still bitter from losing like 250 to usps sucking and then feel bad for best buy that took care of me when my$50 mouse showed delivered but wife was home receiving Amazon shipments.
