View Full Version : SS Agent=idiot
Well, nice to see the agent in charge of the Denver region has chosen to ignore one of the most important aspects of her job. Hey sweetheart, it's about the office not the person.
http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/senior-secret-service-agent-suggests-she-wouldnt-take-a-bullet-for-trump/article/2612814
I've had the pleasure of working along side Secret Service Agents many years ago, still know a couple of retired guys, they never let their feelings of the protectees get in the way of their job. O'Grady needs to be shown the door.
Curious though why it took 3 months for this to come to the surface.
" shut your mouth, do your job or quit" (and hopefully lose your pension)
My thoughts exactly. Immediate termination for cause, loss of benefits and not eligible for rehire in any .gov capacity.
Libs have lost their minds.
If a "senior" SS agent would say this in the clear we are most certainly in perilous times.
Hopefully Trump catches wind of this first hand and he can tell her, "You're fired".

And all the libs wonder why Trump insists on hiring his own private security ... sheesh.
Need to bust the SS back down to investigating counterfeiting and leave VIP security to the Marines.
Hopefully Trump catches wind of this first hand and he can tell her, "You're fired".
I'm trying to think of the best way to send the article to his administration.

Probably via Twitter. Seriously.
Based on her comments, she is no longer able to perform the duties of her job so she needs to be reassigned to the mail room.

Reassign her to guarding the pennies made at the US Mint. And making coffee for the others...
Something about respecting the rank not the man comes to mind
Probably via Twitter. Seriously.
That would require making a Twitter account.

"It was an internal struggle for me but as soon as I put it up, I thought it was not the sentiment that I needed to share because I care very deeply about the mission," the paper quoted O'Grady as saying.
Shouldn't have been talking about the fucking mission on social media in the first place.

This, and setting aside my dislike for the woman, I'd recommend anyone having beliefs such as this do some soul searching and decide if maybe It's time to move on. I don't always agree with my co workers politically or otherwise, but it's my job to have their back when SHTF.
I would never take a bullet for a politician of any party or office. We are setup in this country for next man up.

That's all good and well, but I'm guessing you don't work for the SS or any other agency/organization tasked with protecting politicians.

I bolded the actual meaning of her clarification

No, but I just don't understand why anyone would either.

Sometimes I say that about the fine men and women of the blue, but realise they choose to. In choosing so though you accept it for what it is. That goes for all jobs/careers

99.9% of politicians are scum, but that's not the point.
The point is that if politicians are able to just be killed willy nilly with no protection, particularly the president, you could quickly end up with a Banana Republic situation or a major dictatorship because eventually the screws will tighten on that sort of thing. The other possibility is that you end up with people doing political things out of fear (as opposed to our current system of simple bribe..err.. lobbying).
The USSS and organizations like it, including your basic cops acting as bodyguards for a mayor or whatever, do so because at the end of the day it's not about the person they are protecting, but the office they are protecting.
I know a retired Secret Service agent. She was tasked with VP detail during Clinton/Gore and Bush/Cheney. She despises the Clintons, the Gores and that whole lot of folks from that administration. She preferred the Bush admin as people, considered as such. But her job was to protect the VP and his family -- not because they are worth it as people (they're scum), but because of what their assassination would have represented to the system of a Constitutional Republic (dead) we (supposedly) have.
In other words, it's not a micro reason, subjectively focused; it's a macro reason, objectively focused.
What the USSS agent in the article did was lose her objective focus and make it about the person, and that's decidedly bad. She needs to get fired.
Unofficial motto of the US Secret Service - "You elect them, We protect them."
No one takes a bullet for anyone. Bullets are fast. No amount of training will enable you to be faster. If you get shot while doing your job, you are not having a good day, but the people you are protecting are probably having a better day than you. Cover and evacuate.
I predict that someone is already receiving some career counseling with very few choices (none of them good) being offered. Just a hunch.
Be safe.
Thank you MODFATHER, that is reassuring.
Tim McCarthy exemplified the mindset/training that is necessary for agents on the Protective Detail. Jerry Parr (RIP) knew what he had to do and did it as well. The actions of both men saved President Reagan's life. Obviously O'Grady doesn't have the fortitude for the job, kick her the hell out.

On the bright side, maybe she can now empathize with the men and women in the armed forces who detested Presidents Carter, Clinton, and Obama (and probably Bush as well) but nevertheless did their duty -- including, in some cases, dying in places or for causes they didn't agree with.

They'll give that communist mole a posh retirement from the SS and then she'll wind up running one of the major universities where she will get to spew her liberal socialist dogma all day for a six figure income.

Good one Irving. It is NEVER too soon to make fun of a (D).
She should be on UNpaid leave since she said she wouldn't do her job.

OUTSTANDING! Let this be notice to .Gov employees that wish to put their political "convictions" over the will of the people, the Constitution, and the mission of their job.

I'd prefer they shoot their mouths off so they can identified.
Odds on Comey feeling the same way and covertly doing everything he can to sabotage?
Hillary did nothing wrong making $320 MILLION dollars as SOS and distributing classified materials. But Trump's a Russian agent that we didn't wiretap. Nope, no wiretaps in which we didn't overhear Gen Flynn making Logan Act violations that we didn't leak to the media.
