So I've been reading up and it seems there is a disease out there many times more destructive than swine flu. I'm worried I may have inadvertantly contracted it. Can any of you veterans offer some advice on how to avoid coming down with this disease?

No known effective vaccine...

The only thing that seems to have an effect on it is a lack of money..

So, just send me all your spare cash..

Just continue on, It will run out on its own soon enough, then you'll get hooked on trading instead...

Huge +1

I couldnt have said it more. Once you have more then 2 black rifles, you then see potential to trade the extra black rifles for this or that. A lot of fun when you finally get a new to you firearm. [Beer]

This disease is very common and comes in several forms. It's simple laws of nature. I learned from my cycling hobby that when you leave two bikes alone in a cold garage they will reproduce.

The same goes for guns in a safe. It's dark and lonely and the next thing you know there is a another one in there.

Not always a bad thing.

No kidding. We need a AR-15 fairy or something. After so many rounds, you're rewarded with a brand new toy.

Unfortunately, while these are all known suppressants, there is no reliable cure.

Other known suppressants include but are not limited to:
Wife
Girlfriend
Cars
Knives
etc.

Good luck my friend... good luck.

Ok, please forgive my ignorance, but what does BRD stand for? I get what it means, just can't figure out what it stands for.

Kids do put a stop on the purchasing power for a while.

I can't wait until my kiddo is old enough to be an excuse for my habit. First, he'll need a .22 and 17 hmr. Then he'll graduate to a .223 and 20 ga. By the time he's in high school I'll... um... I mean HE will have another .308 and 12 ga. If we have a girl next it just means I'll have to get one of everything in pink too.

Ah yes. I too suffer from BRD. Actually, I don't suffer from it. I must just be a carrier. Its my wife who develops the elevated blood pressure, labored breathing, and screechiness. [Rant1] I embrace BRD fully and unconditionally...

I have a daughter and a son (one each).

My dad bought them 1 .22 bolt for them to share when they were younger. This was during a LONG period when I didn't buy any guns. Now they are older and for their birthdays this year I bought them hte handgun of their choice. For my daughter's 20th bday it was a Springfield XD-9 (still trying to find spare mags for that). For my sone 17th bday (yeah, I know - he's too young to own a handgun, so officially it's my gun, but...) I got him a Rock Island Armory 1911-A1 Tactical (yeah, Rock Island...he can buy his own Kimber!).

Of course, my wife liked my daughters XD-9 so much that she had me get one for her too. THEN, she tells me that I can't buy any more guns "for a while" - which has extended to NOW.

Geesh! Wives and kids. They sure put a crimp on having fun!

Give it time the Feds are working on a cure or at least considering a serialization of the carriers so that no more will be re-produced.
