Just on my mind since I thought I saw some stuff about Denver trying to signal themselves as another possible sanctuary city.

Basically the crazy one of the 2 that shot a robbery victim at the RTD station was already actually wanted by ICE. (As opposed to many illegals that if given to ICE they dont care about). Denver PD faxes a FYI he's being released half an hour before he's released at like midnight from a pending car theft/jacking case....... goes on to commit that murder.

Has Denver proclaimed to be a sanctuary city? I know Boulder has been on paper yet under the radar for a decade and only just last month officially stated it. Yes I think this should go to court though I doubt anything will happen as Denver technically sent a "fax" notifying INS thus leaving them off the hook on a technicality.

Typical of our justice system though.. How many times has a known criminal, legal or illegal, been let off only to commit a much worse crime?

Denver has called itself a Sanctuary since the days of Wellington Webb.

They should be charged as an accessory.

" ...we are a part of the criminal justice system and do not hold people on civil matters.” Illegal aliens are breaking criminal law. They would be holding criminals.

What I find rather interesting (and by interesting, I guess I mean hypocritical) is how the Post is all over this story implying that it's a travesty this thug was released rather than being held until ICE could pick him up. The Post has supported not only Denver's sanctuary city status, but has frequently argued in their opinion and news pages on the "pro" side of illegal immigration. Typical leftist press bullshit.

The thread name should be changed to "sue Denver SHERIFF-almost" as it wasn't the PD who contacted ICE by fax at 11:33 PM, just twenty something minutes before they released the suspect. It wasn't the Police Department's fault; it was the Denver Sheriff's Office. They are two completely different entities that fall under the City of Denver umbrella. Ultimately, the family should sue the SO and the Mayor for his vocal support of sanctuary city policies.

Fair enough. Sometimes easy to mix them up when elsewhere it's county and city rather than just Denver city and county.
