Just want to post about my new press for those of you that are considering getting into reloading.

I just purchased a new RCBS Rockchucker Supreme press.

Up till now I only ever used a small Lee single stage and for the past 15 years an RCBS Partner press, both worked fine so I did not think I needed anything different for my single stage press needs.

A couple of weeks ago, I happened to see a Rockchucker on display, and noticed it was much better constructed than my Partner press, better tolerances, and the dies screwed into a steel insert instead of a loose fitting tapped hole in aluminum.

So I bought one, got it home and discovered it would not fit where I had the Partner press mounted between a set of drawers in my bench.

While I was waiting for my drill motor to arrive I discovered I could actually use the Hornady Lock N Load bushing converter and bushings.

I picked up a set and got it all installed and setup yesterday.

I have to say this, if I had this setup before I bought my Dillon, I may never have bought the Dillon.

It makes changing dies pretty much effortless, once you have set your die in the bushing, it is done. and it just takes a small turn with your fingers to change it out.

No it is not as fast as a Dillon by any means, but you can save a lot of time wasted every time you change a die.

Anyway, I still have and love my Dillon 550, but have found a new appreciation for the single stage press as well.

YMMV :)

Forgot to mention, the leverage on the Rockchucker is far better then the smaller presses too, make short work of hard to size cases, still need to lube but much easier to cycle with smooth insertion and extraction

I have both a Rockchucker and a 550B. Both fine presses.

Glad to hear these days are behind you:

The Lee stuff I have works fine, but I'm slowly moving away from it. I think the next press I get will be a 550.

LOL, I used that to set the dies on my 550.

I need to order some case gauges next month :)
