Go down to his range and check out his stuff.
I would definitely stay away from pyrotechnics out there though.

He's got a lot guns, but I wouldn't envy him...
He's a worthless POS.

I bought my first assault rifle from him in 1994. It was a Tula arsenal SKS for 179 bucks. Brand new in the box. My buddy bought one too. Then we drove up to Shelf road near Cripple Creek and I emptied my magazine. Worked like a charm.
He didn't have all that stuff in 1994...

you bought a full auto gun from him?
It is a SKS. Semi automatic. See below...

Why do you say that?

He's proven it many times over.
If you get away from the usual gun-nut worship of his firearms collection, the guy sucks.

Nobody had a lot of the shit they now have from back in the 70's...including thier birth certificates, old timer!

Well, there is something he did have back in '94 that he doesn't have now, but I'm trying to appear too classy to bring it up.

One would find it hard to believe now. There was a time back in NY and other east coast states. You could walk in to Eldemans sporting and walk out 15 minutes later with any FNC for $900. Any and every semi auto one wanted was available, providing you had the money.
Why do you say that?
Truth. Fuckin' truth.

Been to his range twice.
Was hot muzzle swept each time.
Had to keep a VERY close eye on weapons while changing targets etc, very shady clientele.
Well noted for being a rip off in the scooter circles.
I'll pass.
Thanks for the heads up. I was just impressed with how many machine guns he has. They didn't look like dealer samples, and if he didn't have them back then, he probably paid market rate for them.

Where does this clowns money come from ? . Sure can't be from his "shooting range" and museum tour fees.

Just went to their website to see what the place is all about. Sure has a lot going on over there, although everything looks like a half ass attempt. The range, motocross, paintball. ...... Interesting that he only takes cash for range fees and motocross, and cash and debit only for firearms purchases. Saving on credit card processing is a good thing, but sure looks like he is skirting paying taxes by taking a whole lotta cash. Sales tax and income.

Yes Kazoo, I have. And I do my income tax is spot on and I take no sketchy deductions. Now back to reality. I'm still wondering where all the $$$$$ comes from. Just curious.

I watched the video and if you can separate the man from the guns for a minute, holy hell that collection is AMAZING. I want all of that in my backyard...

Take him a Harley engine to rebuild and you'll soon have your answer.

So I assume he is a well respected Harley engine rebuilder/custom shop. And by well respected I mean, people actually pay him over the top prices for what he does. And the fact that he actually has customers. I'm seriously know nothing about him or his place other than he has been rather looked to as a dipshit by the firearms community. That has been going on ever since I heard about his Range business aver 20 yrs ago.

I have no personal experience, but I liken it to the Gun Smoke of Colorado Springs + motorcycles.

He wouldn't get a dime of my money, or someone i disliked for mc repairs. With DM you're buying in to the "Name Brand". Decades ago he was a hands on start to finish rebuilder, even then there were issues with his work. If you knew him not so much, someone off the street GFL.

I've still been meaning to get out to his place just to see what's what. I know he has a reputation on here but I swear that every person I talk to down in the Springs likes his place.
I haven't been back since '99 when he had just a range. The range was a bit of a dump then, and it does not appear to have improved.
A friend of mine keeps a Harley head hanging in his garage that he had worked on there in the late '90s. It gave out on him in 100 miles. He shows it to anyone thinking about having work done by him.
People from the Springs go out there because it is closer than going up the mountain. Much of the clientele is questionable. Kind of a no-questions-asked type of range.
However, his gun collection is quite impressive.

No doubt his gun, grenade, mine, vehicle, memorabilia collection is amazing.
When Clinton started clamping down on the low-volume FFLs ("kitchen table gunsmiths" -- where I got several of my early guns) back in the 90s, he was the go-to guy all the local networks fawned over to to get anti-gun quotes about how we should restrict FFLs. He'd go on and on about how dangerous these small FFLs were, etc.
He was anti-gun in order to better line his pockets (less competition = more profits).
As much as I'd like to see his collection, I'll never give him a dime.

Nope, care to expand? Probably a combination of me being a noob to firearms back then plus us down in the 'springs (you know, we don't even have roads down here*) we probably didn't hear news from up thar in the big city.

I bought my first AR from Paladin back in '98. I didn't really hang around and talk to anyone. Seemed like a cool store with okay prices on everyday ARs.
Still have the receipt. ALL SALES FINAL.
