I play, but haven't done multiplayer seriously in a few years. No desire to stream.

Last game I played was Sniper Elite III, which is just a really solid game.

I played a video game online once but it made me feel guilty knowing the stream of profanity coming out of my mouth was likely being directed at some twelve year old kid so I didn't try it a second time.

(Plus, those twelve year olds were kicking my ass.)

I game on PS4 sometimes. But I get bored after about an hour tops. Ive never streamed my game footage but I know if you get enough followers, you can get paid pretty good for playing video games.

Relax, most of those 12 yo, could teach you a word or two.

I play on my sons xbox 1 or 360. FPS games usually, 1-3 matches in one sitting at most, 2x a week but lately more like 1x a month.

I'm an XBox One owner. I mainly play NHL games, but when I'm not, I like some of the combat games. I mainly have played the Battlefield line. I buy games maybe 2 times a year. Though for as much of that I play, I play twice as much PC Minecraft with my son and wife.

I don't stream, and unless I'm trying to learn how to do something, I'd rather watch paint dry than watch someone else play a video game from start to finish. (nothing personal to those who stream or like watching).

I only recently upgraded my PC (in the last year or so) and got back into PC gaming. Mainly did it so I could play The Division (what a let down IMHO). Now I'm eagerly awaiting next week when Ghost Recon Wildlands comes out... Played the Beta last weekend and love it! I don't stream, but watch a few people on Twitch that are hilarious. I wish I could just get on and make money like some of those folks, but I think most of them are the exception, not the rule.

^^^ I downloaded the Beta on Xbox One and was disappointed. I thought it was going to be more like a FPS but, IMO it's more like GTA 5 in South America.

You'd be surprised at how many 30-40+ year olds game online. I play mostly Halo on Xbox One with other older people and we win 80% of the time. The best is telling loudmouth kids they got beat by 40 year olds. The usually sends them off the edge.

it takes a metric shit ton of followers to make enough to earn a living. And after looking into things, twitch.tv is geared more towards streamers and not making money, but the guys on youtube are for money not for the game. -soon I will be getting into twitch rather than youtube.

I'm a gamer, but I don't stream myself, and usually don't watch 'em (occasionally I might if I'm trying to decide if I want to get a game, like when I was watching Dead by Daylight).

I've debated that I may start streaming (more just pure gameplay and not commentary) once Star Citizen comes out with the Javelin, because there won't be as many people with that :P

I used to game A LOT. (PC gamer) I had the rig, the time, etc. Mainly played FPS. I was "one of those guys" that got paid to play (no, it isn't thousands like people believe), hit up by the big names to be a Beta Tester (not as fun as it sounds) and all that jazz. Free merch, etc. For a while, I was the number 3 pilot in the world for BF2 in both fixed wing and whirly birds.... Then, through some tough love, I realized I was addicted. Decided to change. Got married, steady job, and all that jazz. Had a hard time pulling out of it and growing up. That was several years ago...

Now, I might have time to game once every few months for a few hours on a late Saturday night, but it has definitely slowed down a lot. To be honest, I don't miss it at all. Also, to be truthful, it IS fun picking up a controller and pretending like I do NOT know what I'm doing when I school some of my students, HAHAHA.

Hmm, now you got me thinking... back to work!

lol, sounds like we were one of the same. Played HUGE in high school and in college you could say I was addicted. Tournaments online gaming leagues and everything. Got married and all of it went out the window. Well after 10 years of being out of the game, I am finally getting back into things. Wife gives me 1 night a week after dinner, I kiss the kiddos and head to the man cave for a few hours of fun. After talking with a co-worker he explained to me how he was a streamer and would get free merch for "un-boxing" and "shout-outs" to the company, I figured I would give it a try.

The standard shooting range in any FPS game never gets old now. Tumble is a game where all you do is stack blocks, but it's in 3D so it's awesome.

I game on PS4. Mostly FPS games, lately I've been playing Hitman.

Played the Ghost Recon closed beta, typical Ubisoft overpromise, under deliver. Graphics were decent, gameplay was a bit awkward as far as airplane and helicopter controls. Lots of glitches, overall it's another incomplete/unfinished game like The Division. I'll probably buy it after it goes half price. It definitely isn't worth $60.

Also played GTA5, really liked that game. Thought it was very well done with a good story, and lots of things to do.

I lol'd. I like video games but I would say that the stereotype is *generally* true for gamers. I have friends that are still serious gamers and they havent really grown up. I know this isn't 100% true but even in this thread, you see that most people stopped being addicted when their life took off.

Thanks for the offer, man, I might take you up on that offer real soon! I just always had a problem with the fact that every time I price one out, something better is out before I add everything to my cart lol. Ideally I'd like to put something together that can easily handle max settings (4k or better) for the latest shooters and be easily (budget-wise) upgradable for future games. After pricing things here and there, $800 sounds pretty reasonable until I start to think about how I can put an XboneS in the rest of the rooms in my house. Like I said, I just need to nut up haha.

I really liked the TCGRW beta and I'll probably pick a copy up next week, but the friendly NPC's were fuckin' reckless morons! I'd love to run it with a few buddies.

The largest demographic of people who play video games are adults aged between Irving and HBARleatherneck, as we were the ones who grew up in the glory days of video games. The gaming industry is bigger than movies and porn put together (I think that's correct). So while it seems like an easy demographic and low hanging fruit for making fun, it's a pretty large part of the population. I wasted a year of my life playing WoW, and I wasn't even very good at it. It's like anything where you can jump in with both feet. I eventually found more productive things to do (drinking at bars).

jump on Toms hardware and do some reading. You can put together a tower for about $800 that will have an 8 gig graphics card, 16g ram, core i5, 250g SSD, and a rom drive. Nothing fancy but it will get you gaming and able to run decent graphics.

Does Wolfenstein 3D count? I wasted a lot of work time on that one.

I also had a knockoff brand Atari my grandmother gave us.

I purchased the original Nintendo and had 2 games - Mario and something with riding motorcycles and shooting stuff (can't remember the name).
I became instantly addicted and stayed up many hours too late, so I gave it to my nephews after about a month.
Haven't owned any video games since - I don't have enough time to enjoy all my other interests as it is.

I do enjoy the occasional game at a friends house, but I'm just there getting regularly killed or stuck somewhere.

Games sure have come a long way.

Xbox One player here. I play mostly FPS like CoD (even though it's gone to shit the last few releases) BF and Halo. I do like 3rd person games when I play solo like Assassin's Creed and enjoy a good GoW game or two with friends. My latest time dump was The Division. I anticipated this game for years after I saw the first glimpse at an E3 I think like 4 years ago. They kind of broke it after release (The Dark Zone was incredibly exciting when the game was first released and they made it almost unplayable and the constant grind just for gear gets monotonous) and I haven't played it in a couple of months even though I have a season pass. Kind of looking to get back into it but just haven't had the time lately. Other then when I first started playing the game the most fun I had with the game was when I started a 2nd Agent from scratch. The excitement of seeing a blue item drop and then a purple item drop after hours of grinding and actually getting upgrades on gear regularly reminded me what the game could be. If anyone has The Division and feels like starting a new Agent (or just got it and is starting fresh) and teaming up, let me know. Maybe we can get a small group of people to work on stuff again.

Ridge
03-04-2017, 12:43
Man, I had such high hopes for The Division. It was a decent story, but the game sucked once you reached the end game. And on PC, hackers took over the dark zone immediately after launch, making it a no mans land in reality as well as lore.

I can't stand the grinding. Was the same thing with Destiny. Currently playing Titanfall 2 which is a lot better than the first release, especially multiplayer. Halo seems to be the only FPS that doesn't require you to grind things out just to be competitive in multiplayer.

BF1 is also free today and tomorrow. ;-)

I have codes for the full version but never redeemed one. I'm going to use this opportunity to see if I like it enough to redeem one and play it more. I'm usually not a fan of vintage era war games (prefer modern warfare type stuff) and the BF series has been hit or miss for me so I was never compelled to install it. But for free.. well, why not?

BF1 is not as much fun as BF3, in my opinion, but it's still damn good!

I've been much more of a threat in games since I removed the scope from the bolt action sniper rifle I use, and just go into battle with that.

BF4 was my crack once they worked the bugs out. Dice has done an amazing job at listening to their gamers, the CTE is an awesome concept. With BF1 on the xbone it's extremely rare to find people with mics for whatever reason so it isn't very fun to be on a team where you're getting crushed because everybody's running lone wolf or camping as far from the objectives as they can with a sniper fifle. I haven't played it for months.

I just pre-ordered Ghost Recon: Wildlands. I played the beta and I thought it was awesome. Gonna probably piss away a good portion of my day playing that on Tuesday.

Have you messed with the Groups feature on Xbox One yet? I saw they added that with an update but just haven't been on much in months. Seems like a solid way to find a bunch of non-squeakers that have mics and play objectively. I browsed briefly after I installed the free full BF1 trial for this weekend and didn't find much (admittedly I didn't look too hard) but at least it's something. I think when this trial is over I will either redeem one of the codes I have for the full game or go back to The Division but either way I plan to use groups to rebuild the group I play with. We used to have a really solid bunch but that was many years ago (started with CoD4) and most are not scattered to the wind via console change, PC master race enslavement or just having lives.

OMG this video card is amazing! I'm maxxing out all of my games and still keeping >60fps

I'm averaging 80fps in GTA5.

^^^ I downloaded the Beta on Xbox One and was disappointed. I thought it was going to be more like a FPS but, IMO it's more like GTA 5 in South America.
That's kind of the vibe I got from it, but I was way into it since they released the first trailer (and subsequent gameplay videos) so I knew what it was going to be. I think the full game will be much better, and from what I've read, it is even better with a decent squad.

how did you guys like wildlands? I know some of the ghost recons you almost need a buddy to do real tactics in game.
I loved the Beta, just waiting to get off work tonight at 12 and head home, download and have it ready to go when I wake up tomorrow.

The gaming industry is bigger than movies and porn put together (I think that's correct).
There is quite a bit more production value in them these days, and with the writing and voice acting, they aren't too dissimilar from a major film production. Most of the big name actors have lent their voices to games, too. Plus more hours of enjoyment than the few minutes (seconds?) you get from porn. [Coffee]

Lord I hope so. This afternoon, around 1:30 or so, it was showing the release map and Japan and Korea already have it. One can only assume it goes live at 00:01...

You can play it here in 10 minutes on XBL, I'll probably be on in about an hour or so...gotta handle some honey-do's.

I haven't tried that feature yet, I usually decide to play it out of the blue and want to get right at it.

Simple solution: install the Xbox glass app on your phone and set up groups or browse groups when you're not playing.

Played GR:W for about 3 hours today before work... It starts you exactly where the Beta did, which I expected, so I'm doing that whole first area all over again. It's okay, I learned from past mistakes and am making it clean this time. Seriously fun.

Friday I have off. I will be playing gta V all day and streaming a few videos.

I need a new game to try out and a new monitor. Looking at a 32" curved. Opinions?

I started playing it on Monday night (10:01) when it dropped. Game is absolutely amazing. I played it for about 4 hours yesterday. Actually had to force myself away from the t.v. to get more important stuff done. I'm playing with a few of my buddies on Xbox Live. My gamertag: OneAngryGerman

Right now or 9pm would be good time for me to play, but my kid is hugging the console right now.

My plan to play GS Wildland is that I will do [easier] side missions first just to get use to the buttons and controls.

On the monitor or game? I've heard the curved are nice, but not nice enough to warrant paying extra (do side by side pricing, like on Newegg). Game: Ghost Recon: Wildlands, if you liked GTA V, you'll love this. If you liked The Division, you'll definitely love this.

Played Wildlands about 2hrs and took 2hr rest, and played another 2hrs last night.

I wasted a lot of time exploring skill set and question mark on the map. Story mission will cover all of them anyways.
I am going to try to fit about 3 hrs tonight.

Saw Wildlands and it looks sweet, thought about picking it up. Maybe when I'm in the land of the snowflakes for 4 months I will pick it up.

I have duel 24's right now and like it, but after seeing a sweet curved 32 I was hooked. It's kind of big for sitting on a computer desk, but it definitely sucks you into the game or what ever is on your monitor.

Just streamed another one - shameless plug if you're bored.... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyNbZuU6_Cjv1lv0AkjT5eg

Siege is another good Tom Clancy game. I'm a fan of the Rainbow Six series. Battlefield 1 is pretty sweet also. I think Wildlands is one of the best yet.
