Been getting on a customers roof for two days using the ladder in the front yard. Today I needed to make repairs from the back yard. Knock on the door to tell the lady to keep this 200+ pound hell hound in the house. She says he is friendly and I shouldn't worry. I asked if she could introduce her dog to me before I go into his yard. She ask me inside and she said he likes to jump on people. This immediately made me think WTF? This dog is way too big....bam son of a bitch went right at my face. Dont think he was trying to bite but I took a tooth below my lip and felt like someone hit me in the face with a concrete block.

I love people who get a dog like a mastiff and not teach it a fucking thing. Hope she never has kids.
There....I feel a little less bitchy now.

My first thought reading this was he knocked your ladder over

Did you have to use the back yard access to keep from getting blown off? Bout lost my topper door unloading tools up sunshine

So, you asked a woman for access to her "back yard" and she turned her dog loose on you?

On the flat roof repairing precast Concrete. Back yard was stucco repair on the walls kinda hard to do from the roof.

My favorite is when people don't understand that dogs act differently when they're not around. "Oh they're super friendly, go on around back."

"Your super friendly dogs wouldn't even let me through the gate. Either put them away or be in the back yard the whole time."

Argh. I hate dog owners that a) expect everyone else to be utter do lovers that let their beasts get away with everything, and b) dog owners that are clueless or indulgent beyond reason. I feel your pain.

I specifically instruct people that if my dog jumps up, use your knee. No one ever does it because they want to be polite. I'm not shy with my dog and she's learned to sit when I come in.

That's because you're a responsible dog owner, Stu.

My absolute favorites (sarcasm alert) were the owners that were afraid of their dogs, and who let their dogs bite them. And of course, they expected me to let their dogs bite me as well.

Yeah, not gonna' happen. If the owner won't be alpha, those dogs are going to learn who is in a hurry.
