Need to throw a bachelor party for about 15-20 folks in their late 40s. None of us are big drinkers and no strippers.
Was thinking a good steak or brisket dinner the renting out the indoor go cart track for a few hours.
Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

You looking in the Springs, or is Denver an option?

"no strippers" really means "I'm trying to be a good guy, but if we happened to just by random chance run into some strippers at some point in the night it would be pretty awesome".. just sayin'

I had to throw a bachelor party for a bunch of guys in their twenties. We started out doing the go cart thing at Unser Karting and it was a blast. Dave & Busters or something similar is always good clean fun for grown men as well.

Whatever it is, if you don't have a new tattoo and half your head shaved while you're balls deep in a cheap hooker at the end of the night, it's a failure.

This was going to be my suggestion if Denver is an option.

Unser is a blast. It's sorta pricey, but worth it IMO.

The steak/go kart thing sounds pretty cool. For mine we went to an Irish pub in Denver.

ETA: Batteriesnare's suggestion is also a good one.

Best karts in Colorado Springs: http://www.sbrmotorsportspark.com

Took my kids there for my youngest's birthday (he wss 10) and it took a while for him to open it up and really push the corners... power on their karts is pretty decent for rentals

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm trying to figure mine out as well. Anyone have a good place for some shooting and camping. If I'm intruding on the thread, let me know, I'll start my own.

A friend of mine had his at Colorado Clays out in Brighton. We shot a few rounds of trap/skeet, the shot the course for sporting clays. I had an 870, one of the guys had a Perazzi, and one guy had a Saiga 12...everyone had a great time, then we went back to his dad's for BBQ and beers...outstanding afternoon.

Cocaine and Escorts (they don't like to be called hookers, or so I've been told)! Didn't read through the thread so I'm sure it's not the first sugestion... Or just don't get married.

I'm in the same position as the O.p. We are starting our day at Top Golf and then having a party bus pickup everyone from there. We are doing a brewery crawl working our way back to the north side of town, ending up back at the grooms place for a big bbq.

Never been a fan of strip joints myself. I equate it to going to a bar that you have to pay for a beer that you never get to drink - and then paying for it again a few minutes later because it's still in front of you.

At my age, and with the risk of a DUI (esp. if the legal limit gets reduced even more, and as a felony), I don't like to drink at all if I'll be driving. No need having any smell of alcohol on my breath if I were to get pulled over.

So for a guy like me, most of the traditional Bachelor Party ideas would be out.

Reading this thread I've seen a few really good ideas a boring fella like me would be willing to participate: Battlefield Colorado (in my town and I had no idea it even existed), Shooting Trap/Skeet (some day I'll learn the difference - I just know those clay pigions are a b!tch to cook to make them edible), a day at the range, a day of golfing... Any of these followed up with a great BBQ in the evening.

The camping suggestion is also a good idea - in the middle of the summer because you won't get me out there now with the ultra cold nights. With the camping idea you could also drink without worries of a DUI since you'll be staying put until morning.

So if the Bachelor Party was for me, these are the ideas I'd be interested in. Plus, if you want to make it a whole day affair you could do combinations of these things. Everybody would be just as wiped out the next morning like they are following the traditional Bachelor Party debauchery.

Top Golf is a really awesome place, even if you're not that into golf. I started my own bachelor party at a Rockies game and then we went to some poolhall downtown. I think we ended up at the Grizzly Rose. [Dunno]

Liberty Firearms Institute has a VIP room (kitchen, TV, Foosball) you can rent out for parties. The Simulation and Bobber ranges along with a catered meal in the VIP lounge would be a blast.

I like your idea with a nice dinner and go carts. Just make sure you space them out...lol. Puke and rallying is only cool in College.

My party was in Las Vegas the night before the wedding. We ran into the bride a few times that evening as well. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas unless the future bride is a few seats down...lol. The wedding was at noon, and a few of the guys left the casino at 11am. They looked rough.

The camping idea is a good one. It would be awesome with a day on the water as well (fishing, water sports, relaxing). Make a weekend out of it.

My next bachelor party is in Hawaii in the next few months. That is a tough one to plan without spending four years of retirement.

If you really want to get crazy and have everyone feeling really sick in the morning you could take them to Casa Bonita.

I’m not much help, I’ve never fully understood the concept of a bachelor party and the need for hookers and a stooper.

For me, the only reason I got married each time was, I got tired of beers, no commitment and meaningless sex every night. I figured I needed to get some responsibility. So, getting laid and a bender never sounded good to me for a bachelor party, that’s what I was getting away from. However it was the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s, we had to actually meet face to face, and after a little social lubricant the game was on.

Did you post the same thing in the G4G Covert Ops group on FB?

There's a place called Bowlerama over here in Lone Tree; they have bowling and laser tag and an arcade...and it's right across the street from the Indoor Skydiving place. Lots of decent eateries around here, if the BBQ thing doesn't work because of weather.

You could also rent some lanes at one of the many indoor shooting ranges. Possibly even rent out one of the smaller movie theaters for an event like a bachelor party, although I don't know what that might cost.

(I'm offering indoor ideas, in the event that we get no rain and the Fire Hazards keep outdoor fun to a minimum.)

We rented a bus, threw a homemade craps table in the back and went from bar to bar. Probably the best bachelor party I ever went to...even the bus driver said it was the best night he ever had.

How about Centennial Gun Club and dinner at Del Frisco's?

Split the group in two and half use the simulator while the other half use the live range... then rotate.
