Saturday morning there was a rollover in one of the tunnels. The word is that 3 "kids" (I take it to mean 20 somethings) were driving down from Black Hawk. Kid in the back seat was "playing with a gun" and proceeded to shoot the driver in the head accidently. Car wrecks in a tunnel. Driver and front passenger dead, backseat shooter unscathed.
I can't find squat about this online. Anyone hear anything other than the rumors I got at the casino?
That's a pretty detailed rumor. Wonder where it originated. Interested to hear the full story once it breaks.

I know that a rollover with falities happened in a tunnel. Lots of folks late that day due to the canyon being closed for hours.
I'm not saying I don't believe you, simply remarking that is a lot of detail for people to have without a story breaking on the news yet. I better call family that goes up there often and make sure it was none of them.

Little bit of a thread jack...
I got a call of a fatal accident on I-70 near the Morrison exit many years ago...early 90s. Arrived on scene and, sure enough, there was a single fatality, with multiple vehicles involved. Guy (only occupant) drove his car off Hwy 40, landed on I-70 below, hitting a car or two which then hit other cars travelling in both directions, went thru or over another guardrail and down a couple hundred feet of embankment. He was totally FUBAR'd. The scene was a total fuster cluck, too.
Fortunately, my job was to simply wait for CSP and let them handle it...with a little good-natured ribbing about how long it was gonna take.
I left the scene and about 2 hours later (an hour and half before shift end) got a call from dispatch telling me to go back to the accident scene. When I got there the Trooper had a big smile on his face and told me it was my call after all. Apparently the driver capped himself in the head with a .357 just prior to going off Hwy 40...so it was a suicide. Took many hours to collect evidence, hiking up and down the embankment several times (in the dark), writing reports, etc. And that's with CSP doing the accident report. One of my worst calls ever.
