My kid and his girlfriend went to the Tanner yesterday. The boy tried to buy a WWII Arisaka from this guy. However my kid couldn't get all the money he needed from his credit card, he had a $200.00 withdrawl limit so he made a down payment and they agreed to close the deal at Sportsmans warehouse today at 5:00.

Guess who never showed.

The long of it is my son has a hand written makeshift receipt for a rifle and a specific serial number and not much else. Hopefully he doesn't get burned on this deal.

Anyone here know how to get a hold of Steve Vallejos???

Any info is much appreciated.

Whitepages lists 3 in Colorado. Google the name in " " and Colorado. Check images first and if you see his pic, start there. Could probably also check with Tanner.

What happens when your son called the guy?

I hope he at least got a phone number when he set the deal up.

Ask son, if he has time, to watch Gunbroker and see if he can find the same gun on there. Let us know if that is the case.

So the kid and Steve Vallejos exchanged phone numbers at the Tanner but somehow my Einstein kid came away with the piece of paper with his own phone number on it. Beautiful.
So maybe something came up at this guys work and he couldn't make the meet at Sportsmans, who knows.
The kid found him on Facebook, friended him and he accepted, but no further communication so far tonight.

Hopefully there was just some bad communications on one side or the other. Or both. Hopefully it will all work out.

Take some screenshots from his Facebook. If he doesn't do right by your son, post up here. This site has a way of bringing scumbags to light on the interwebs...

Please let us know regardless of what happens.

Hopefully he'll respond to my son doing the facebook thing. If not, we'll go from there.
Anyone know how to get ahold of someone important at tanner who may give out a vendor phone number in a situation like this?

A few on here regularly have tables there. Hopefully owns will see this and pipe in. I think APEXgunparts is a regular at the show.

I will run it by an FFL acquaintance that has a couple of tables at every Tanner.

I have known Steve personally since about 1986.
Great guy, very knowledgeable, good friend, always sets up next to me at TANNER.
They did goof-up on the phone number exchange.
Steve was waiting at home for a confirmation call about the meet.
Neither party had the others number until they got together thru FaceBook.
This is on track now, no more need to continue this thread.

Richard (ApexGunParts) is correct.
They didn't meet up because I guess they waited to hear from each other. Through Facebook they did get in contact with each other. I think it's all good.
Mods can kill this if they'd like.

This is a done deal.
It all worked out just fine. All above board, all is well.
