Ever stumble across things you have and have no memory of where they came from and you can't even remember you had them?

I was moving some stuff around in the laundry room last night and found a couple of Walmart bags beneath some blankets. One bag had a set of FAL handguards in it and the other bag had a complete Glaco shoulder holster rig. I did have a FAL at one time so it's possible the handguards might have been left over from that but I don't recall changing them out. I have no clue how I ended up with the Galco rig or even what it fits. Might have to research the holster and see if it fits anything I currently own.

Found a fully loaded (I HATE that phrase) 30-round mag of .300blk the other day in the mesh side pocket of a backpack I was about to take on a bike ride to Home Depot. I took it on a deployment with me and forgot it was in there, but I guess I knew I had it.

Rediscovered several crates of Guatemala M193 surplus in my stack of empty ammo crates. I knew the crates were there, but had thought they were empty, then I went to move them and five of the crates were really heavy. Turns out I'd never gotten around to using them all up.

I'm a bit of an ammo whore.

Found out that I have a 20-round HK 91 (308) mag.... I've never owned one, so I don't know why I'd have it.

Many a year ago the spouse was cleaning out an old horse loafing shed being torn down for the new garage. She calls me over asking if these items were trash or should she save them... 3 cases of SA 308.

I imagine mags are going to be somewhat of a theme here lol. A few weeks ago, I found a stash of Scar mags I sat aside for a buddy of mine who didn't pony up his portion on a group buy a few years back. I honestly can't believe I forgot about those. They weren't fully loaded, however.

6.5 Grendel mags. Some loaded. I have never had a rifle in it. Picked em up before the ban with the intent of getting an upper...still need to.

Moved a few years ago, and in the stuff we were moving, the wife said, "guess what I found" I didn't even try.
She held it up, a firearm. Little tiny thing. Was probably part of a trade at one time. No clue when, who, what for, or even that I had it.
It was past July 1 2013 so I kept it. Not worth the hassle/$$ of an FFL to sell it.

I do it with paintball parts all the time. Could probably assemble 20 working guns just from all the parts.

This last Sunday I went to pay for something online and was in a rush so I decided use my PayPal account rather than create an account and enter CC information. Found out I had $122 in my PayPal from a Home Depot return I had forgotten about. It was like Christmas in March.

No. And neither does that burning sensation when you urinate.

Actually yes .... a .50 caliber T/C muzzleloader popped up during a move a couple years ago. Complete mystery to me, did not recognize. Took me talking to my hunting buddy to remember that I had bought it in 1999 to go elk hunting muzzleloader season.

Now each hunting camp, he picks up my rifle, holds up in air and says "Gee, whose is this?"

My favorite TSA story is relevant here: Not long after 9/11 my (not yet at the time) wife and I flew to Colorado for our very first visit. I was walking down Pearl Street mall in Boulder and tucked my hands deep into my pockets of my jacket. I felt something odd and pulled out a round of 9mm ammo.

I had been shooting Steel Challenge back in Jersey at the time. After you finish a stage, you clear your gun, show empty and holster. This ejects the last round on the ground (unless you like to show off). I picked up the round and tucked in my pocket, and then clearly missed one when packing up after the shoot.

That jacket came on the plane with me. It had been on the belt and gone through the metal detectors.

I have been stopped for having a tripod in my carry-on. I've been forced to surrender my nail clippers I forgot to put in my checked luggage. I've had to toss water away. But a round of 9mm? Hop right on sir.

Nope. It was mine. I bought two Rigid power tools, then returned one and forget to transfer the funds from my PayPal, back to my bank account.

I'm waiting for the story of how a teenager knocked on the door and started calling someone "Dad."

Even better if he says, "Mom?"

Cleaning the garage this past weekend, I found magazines that go to a pistol I have NEVER owned, and never would have thought of owning.

No clue where I got them, because I know they didn't come from my wifes parent's estate, and I have no better idea where they came from.

Moved out of our house in Alabama a few months ago and found a set of wheels in the back of the loft of the shed for a truck I owned about 6 years ago!

Anyone need 4 wheels for a Dodge Dakota? Wrapped in dried, cracking, cooper tires. [ROFL2]

I flew from COS to Vegas in 2006 with a loose 9mm round and full G26 reload mag in my carryon (didn't realize they were in a side pocket). I tossed the rounds and flew back with the empty mag in my checked bag, rather than tempt fate on the flight back.

Ray, I'm pretty sure you got that Galco rig with the SIG P229 I traded to you a few years back. I seem to recall having a brown Galco shoulder rig for it.

Ha. I think you are correct. Apparently I set it aside and totally forgot about it.

Thanks. That solves that mystery.

Found four 50-taper collet chucks in a cabinet at work, new in the box. These were mis-shipped and never returned. Over $600 in tooling, sitting and gathering dust...

Boss said "Can you sell these?", so they are in TP here before going to CL or fleabay.

I can't wait to find all kinds of surprises starting Monday, we finally get to move into our new house and all my stuff has been in storage at a few locations. I'm pretty excited to find stuff that I completely forgot about!
