Picked up a new Shield .45acp no thumb safety model. I had a 9 that I sold off a couple weeks ago-loved the gun but it always felt like was about to jump out of my grip. The .45 feels so much better. Just got back from running a couple hundred rounds of Federal American Eagle 230gr fmj and 40 rounds of Federal 230gr standard velocity HST. Not a single problem between 3 mags (2 7rd, 1 6rd) and any of the ammo. It barks a bit more than the 9 but for a self defense pistol it'll be just fine.
The trigger is much better than on previous models but I'll still add the Apex aluminum trigger and duty/carry kit to improve it just a bit more along with night sights.
