Round dings on brass on many rounds of new factory Winchester Match 5.56 77gr BTHP.

Basically I just wanted to get your opinion. Guess I expected a little more from Match ammo.

Kind of a newbie and mostly shoot ball ammo. Trying to see what ammo my 18" 1/8 ar15 Spr build likes.

Should not have passed QC. I'd suggest contacting them with pics. Unless you got noted blem rounds, you should expect non-blem.

I'd say it looks perfectly normal from what I see here.

Contacted Sgammo and this is what they said

"Basically all Winchester 5.56 ammo has lots of rounds little dings on the brass, its just the nature of their product due to the manufacturing processes they use, and is commonly found on all their 5.56 options, even the top-end stuff. It has no negative effect on performance and is normal for that ammo.

Thank you

I was just busting his balls for not posting pictures of the alleged defect. [Awesom]

Call the manufacturer with the lot number.

Or post some pictures. We have lots of smart and experienced people here. We have some dumb ones too but both groups would still be happy to give you their opinion.

Is it dented like this?

or like this?

(weird little pitting)

If former - bad
If latter - par for course.

Good thing it wasn't a box of golden sabers...Byte Stryke would help you go burn the plant down.

Probably above the heads of many lol

I'd be more concerned about accuracy degradation from those heavy crimps.

Those look like blems / 2nd's, like Ray said that crimp is excessive. I'd be on the phone with winchester.
