DEVELOPING: A California elementary school is currently on lockdown after two people reportedly were shot and killed there Monday in what police suspect is a murder-suicide.The incident happened around 10 a.m. local time at the North Park Elementary school in San Bernardino.
We believe this to be a murder suicide. Happened in a class room. Two students have been transported to the hospital.— Chief Jarrod Burguan (@SBPDChief) April 10, 2017 (https://twitter.com/SBPDChief/status/851495616794435584)Based on preliminary information, there were 4 victims, with the suspect possibly down as well, San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan posted on Twitter.
One of the victims is believed to be a teacher and responders are on scene, Maria Garcia, communications officer at San Bernardino Unified School District, told Fox News. Their conditions were not immediately clear.
“We believe this to be a murder-suicide. Happened in a classroom,” Burguan said. He added that two students have been transported to a hospital.
The school is on lockdown along with two others: Hillside Elementary School and Cajon High School.
Garcia told the San Bernardino Sun (http://www.sbsun.com/general-news/20170410/shooting-reported-at-san-bernardinos-north-park-elementary-with-multiple-victims) that school officials believe the “situation is contained.”
Burguan advised the public to stay out of the area and said students are being taken to Cajon High School for safety.
That's not possible in California.

Sounding like a murder/suicide. Probably domestic.
A murder-suicide isn't really a school shooting. Not your title OP, I know.
ETA: I don't understand the practice of locking down other schools.
Right!

I think they need stricter gun control laws in California.
And maybe pass something making it a crime to bring a gun to a school.
That should pretty much fix everything and keep everyone safe.

I think the locking down of other schools in the area is just a safety precaution. Not sure how it is in other states but around town here one could potentially put an attack on an elementary school then travel across the neighborhood and attack another close by elementary or middle school since a lot of them are fairly close together just walking across neighborhoods. Or even limiting a panic of people fleeing another close by school and creating more targets in the area if the attacker leaves the first area.
A murder-suicide isn't really a school shooting.
So, nobody was shot at a school?

So, nobody was shot at a school?
School shooting has certain connotations. You don't refer to drive-bys as "street shootings."

Boy, 8, and teacher slain in San Bernardino school shooting; gunman kills himself (http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/boy-8-and-teacher-slain-in-san-bernardino-school-shooting-gunman-kills-himself/ar-BBzFhQV?li=BBnb7Kz)
Burguan said Anderson was armed with a high-caliber revolver and had a criminal history that includes arrests for weapons and drug possession, as well as domestic violence. Anderson’s prior domestic violence arrest predated his relationship with Smith, according to Burguan, who did not say if the man legally obtained the revolver used in the shooting.
What's a "high-caliber revolver"? It sounds extra lethal.

Sounds like the kids were wounded by pass throughs or misses from a .357 mag wheelgun.

Absolutely. Heartbreaking about the boy and teacher.
I suspect that further info coming out about this one will be tough to get as the guy blew through every gun law they have out there.
From the LA Times:
Anderson had a criminal history, including weapons charges and “a domestic violence past” that preceded his relationship with Smith. Los Angeles County Superior Court records show that Anderson was charged in July 2013 with assault and battery, brandishing a firearm and disturbing the peace.
He used a .357 which I would assume would be a revolver and democrats are relatively fine with killing sprees by revolvers for some reason. If it were not a revolver they would be using "semi automatic" in all their headlines since that word "automatic" is then allowed to be thrown around.
Point is, the guy should not have had a gun based on his background and they will not say how he got said gun.
Murder is illegal.
Shooting people is illegal.
Gun on school grounds is illegal.
He should not have been allowed to have a gun based on their laws.
He broke a million and one "democrat gun laws" and none off the stopped this. Now the media will move on so the failure is not promoted.

The efficacy of Rule #4 thus proved, tragically. :(
School shooting has certain connotations. You don't refer to drive-bys as "street shootings."
I will now.
The problem with liberals not understanding that criminals don't follow laws:
Armed security officers are not assigned to any of the district’s elementary schools, including North Park, a magnet school for students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade who are interested in environmental issues, according to Garcia, the school district spokeswoman. Garcia described security on campus as “very, very tight.”
“Once the school bell rings, the only way into the campus is through the front office,” she said.
All district schools require visitors to show a photo ID and sign in at the front office. The gunman, she said, “followed the check-in protocol.”
Oh, yeah. Security was "very, very tight".
Anyone willing to trade their life to take another is not intimidated by some stupid "check-in protocol" or any other law. You have "no" security at your indoctrination camp.[facepalm]
