So in the big move from Englewood to the Columbine area, I neglected my CCW permit which expires in about 2 weeks.
I've got my renewal paperwork together and will submit it tomorrow morning. My previous permits were in Denver and Arapahoe Counties respectively and those counties took every bit of 90 days to issue both the initial and the renewal permit.
How is Jeffco in terms of time to reissue? I've only had one address change in the past 10 years and that was when we moved to our current house.
My last renewal in Jeffco in Jan 2014 was about 3 weeks...

Same here, precisely 21 days.
Somewhat related...
My current permit was issued by Douglas county and I moved to Jefferson county about three and a half years ago. When I moved I called the Jefferson county office and they said I needed to file a change of address form but my permit would stay a Douglas county permit. I called the Douglas county office to confirm and they also told me that even my renewal would stay in Douglas county. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes, when I moved to Weld county I went back to Jeffco SO and they issued a new Jeffco CHP on the spot with my new Fort Lupton address. When the Jeffco expired I then went to the Weld SO and did a regular renewal.
ETA: I missed the part about the new renewal staying in DC. As I said my renewal switched to Weld.

On a somewhat related note - I just renewed in Adams County.
Renewal time?
About 10 minutes.

Old rule was that the permit stayed with whatever county first issued it. My first permit was issued in Denver in 2007 so when I needed to renew in 2012 I had to go back to Denver even though in 2012 I was a resident of Arapahoe county.
Some time around 2014 - 2016 the law changed and then the renewal went through your current county of residence.

Just an FYI. Jefferson County now utilizes a service (https://permitium.com/) to renew CCW permits. The cost is lower ($36.46), and it's all on-line, no need to go to the Sheriff's office. You can apply for renewal up to 90 days before the current one expires. The information says that they handled renewals on a first come, first served basis.
Time to renew using this method took significantly longer. Today, I received notification that my permit has been "issued" and will be mailed. It has been 77 days since I submitted the required payment and info. With all that, hope I actually get it before the old one expires on November 1.
DON'T PROCRASTINATE. I had 84 days when I applied and it's going to be close.
Per the letter I received, it states that the renewal window (Jefferson County) is now 120 days prior to expiration. Also IN the county of current residence.

Did you get your permit before Nov 1?
Did you get your permit before Nov 1?
It actually hit the mailbox ON Nov 1. :)
If you do not put your renewal in early enough (as stated above - at least 90 days) they WILL let your currant permit EXPIRE.
Now you are a criminal.
Mine took 88 days, start to finish
I can't wait until mine needs renewing, the current photo on it is TERRIBLE!
I was a CRIMINAL for exactly one month.
Start to finish it took 72 days.
The form that comes with it says to START your application 120 days before it expires.
