Im going to actually make plans for this, this year. Cheyenne wells has been on my bucket list for years
I'm a little confused by the wording... it costs $250 to rent a MG to fire? $250 for 5 seconds of fun?... am I reading it wrong?

If you go look me up I will be somewhere on the line.

$250 is for a spot on the line. The MG rentals start around $30 for a magazine

$250 to rent a spot on the firing line for the weekend.
MG rentals vary by vendor. If you go, plan to spend some $$. You're paying (typically) to shoot one magazine at a time, unless you are on "friend status" with someone who has toys and a firing position.

Bring money
and a Camera
it's a fun, knock all those bucket list things off your list. (I want to shoot this and this and this and this)
Hell, back in 06/07 ish? (before ammo went insane) i dropped $800
worth every penny.
Ah, so we pay the $10 specatator fee and then just drop the $$ on what we want to shoot? Got it. I might have to try to get to this!

I took my dad last year. His first time with full auto. Didn't get nearly enough video.

FYI Most of the vendors deal in cash only, just a few will take CC. Just a reminder that they do close the line at noon on Sun. Every year I have been, someone always shows up around noon on Sunday and gets turned away. I will be stuffing magazines at Jerry's Machine guns, stop by and say hi( and shoot some guns).

Are you just shooting your own, or will you be renting out? What will you be shooting?

I will be shooting my own but stop by with some factory ammo and a magazine or two may fall your way. 9mm, 223 and 308 would be the flavors that my guns like
If you plan to shoot video, I HIGHLY recommend a tripod! It's a long-ass drive too.....

Jerry had a pretty good deal last year. 4 guns/1 mag each, for $60. I put my dad behind a Thompson, M-16, Uzi and AK. He enjoyed it quite a bit.
AND THIS PROBABLY GOES WITHOUT SAYING, BUT BRING YOUR EAR PRO

Dang, same week-end as the Colorado Gun Collectors Annual Show.
Missed it last year for the same reason.
Just wanted to give this a bump since it's next weekend. If your planning on coming down give me a shout and stop by and say hi.

Don't know the exact spot on the line but with have 2 white canopies setup with a 1919a4 with it's tripod sitting on a home built table. Mostly one of the 3 of us will be smoking a cigar also. If you still can't find us look for a guy that is 6'7" that would be me.
So, just look for the white canopies? I'm thinking you might not be the only one set up under a white canopy. Lol.

Well duh. Where AT? Is he going to be renting guns? Just shooting his own? Selling hot dogs? WTF.... And it's NEXT WEEKEND, a damn sight sooner than "less than a month away".

Won't be selling hot dogs but will be smoking ribs on the smoker for Saturday night. Also I don't rent my guns but I do like to share a mag or two among friends. When we get there Thursday and if we have cell service I will post up our positions.
Last year I shot an STG-44, a Sturmgewehr 44. Super-rare Nazi rifle from near the end of the war, basically where Kalashnikov got his ideas from. I'd only seen them in museums, and there was one on a "rent me" table. Saved one round for my collection, they're some oddball caliber. Too cool!
Oh yeah, an M2 carbine also. An M1 carbine with a select-fire happy switch.

Any report on the Shoot? Thursday used to be set-up day, and the week-end looks rough.
Not the first time. Bob McBride, who set it up years ago, always said: "We shoot, rain or shine"

Finally stopped raining fri night. Wind dried the mud on sat, but still had a busy day. Got to cap off the evening with a 250 rd PKM belt and a 100 rd tracer in the MG42. Sunday should be a nice day, come out and shoot some machine guns. But is does shut down at noon.
