Anyone else remember when the XD was the HS2000 and they couldn't give them away?

Does my preference for a hammer over striker make me old? I still put my thumb over the back of the Glock slide when I'm holstering. Habits take a while to establish and never seem to die.

I do that too but that's because I've seen them get knocked out of battery by super stiff holsters.

Bout damn time on the front serrations. The XD with a hammer is pretty sweet if your ever caught in a move and need to pull one off in Sa [Coffee]
I Wonder how crappy the trigger is going to feel.

At the last match a guy on our squad kept racking his slide by using his thumb and index finger on the front edge of the slide because he didn't have the grip strength to rack it the normal way. I cringed every time I saw him do it and wished he had front slide serrations.

If he had the strength to do it (IMO) the wrong way. He has the strength to do it the right way.

Generally I'd agree, but he was an older guy nursing some shoulder injury. Either way, it made me nervous.

Then, in the name of safety, he should have been asked to not participate.
Which came up in this thread, relating to experience and safety for the match. Primarily safety

Old guys shouldn't be allowed to play with guns.

Oh, and I'm still waiting on a new Glock without the finger grooves. You know, like the "gen 5 FBI model".

It's one of the factors holding me back from idpa & 3 gun, again. Till there's a comfort level that puts an oops with the leg out of the picture, i'll pass.

But Lt. Dan, you are the only one of us who wouldn't need a trip to the hospital if you shot yourself in the leg. Maybe a body shop, or a welder, but not a surgeon. [Coffee]
