Heard a ton of great things about Chris at Amerigun USA. Known for milling slides to fit red dot optics on almost anything. Shipped an HK USP slide and barrel to Amerigun in Michigan so they could mount a Vortex Viper and new sights. This was Feb. He has been great with communication until early March. Stopped replying to emails, telephone calls to the shop and his cell phone. Neither him or his wife (who also runs the business) will return voicemails or emails.
I have been patient, thinking he isn't completed with the work and he will call when the slide and optic are completed (promised a completion day in March). It's been 4 emails, 4 voicemails and no reply. Not knowing Chris personally, I cannot speak to his work ethic but reviews speak highly of his communication and sticking to his promised times for projects.
Do I just keep waiting for a reply?
Do I call the local PD?
Is he just sick and not returning calls?
Family issues?
Anyone with experience working with Amerigun USA and their experience with Chris and Samantha McVety?

Have you checked on FB or other media where he or those seeking answers might be? Knowing a few smiths, any work done by the promised time is a rarity . They tell you 4 weeks, double that time. 2 month wait... figure 6.

They're like painters, next week..........

Funny, after one month of no response, got this email today.
Just glad I get my project completed and able to move on!

There has been a change in management here at Amerigun USA. My son, Christopher has had to step down as president. My husband ( who has many years of experience as a gunsmith) was working with Christopher. He and I have decided to step in and take over the business. We have been diligently working to get these jobs organized and completed. However this weekend we are the NRA show in Georgia, and will be back on Monday. We apologize for your inconvenience and will let you know by the end of the week how soon you can expect your items back.

Thank you for your patience,
Jessica McVety for
Liz McVety - Office Manager.
