I always think it's stupid when people say they are going to sell it for less than they paid for it. "No shit? That's because it's used now dummy."

I remember when I was a teenager, I was looking at an old dirt bike for $600. The guy just told me this story about how fast it was. He lost control, ran it into a fence and damaged it, but he was selling it for what he paid for it, because he didn't want to lose any money on it. Well, shouldn't have crashed it then dumb ass.

Perhaps they think they would be able to sell the trade with ease? Or they want the indicated item instead, and just want to move the process along? I dunno, I'm usually skeptical when I see something similar.

Selling below or even above what someone paid for a gun is not relevant.
The market and a willing buyer and willing seller determines what something is worth at the time of the deal.

In some cases the gun someone wants to sell is difficult to sell because of high value or maybe not a popular item, etc. Sometimes taking a trade will allow a deal to be made. The seller will get less cash, but will get some cash. Maybe that is enough to tide him over his immediate crisis. The seller then needs to do a second deal to sell the trade.

granted the crisie sometimes dictates the need to sell.
i'm talking about not only one who post an ad the HAS TO SELL TODAY or willing to consider trade. They must not be that DESPERATE to sell ASAP.

Also i notice when one is bashed for an "asking price" a few change their board names then go OK here is what i can accept NO LOW Ball OFFERS then lowers the price another $30-40.00 ??
