Long story short I'm looking at an rv purchase. Private party. My bank sucks but I'm not moving to a credit union for at least a year.

Any feedback on good Sam as the note holder?

Other rv loan companies I should look at?

Are you eligible for USAA membership (honorably discharged veteran?) I did our loan through USAA and it was great.

There are plenty of lenders that'll finance an RV. I'd start with lendingtree.com. They'll get you several offers and you can compare rates and terms and pick the best one for you.

Due respect to Martin, I had a USAA RV loan and they were a major PITA. Also had homeowners insurance with USAA and they were a major PITA. I have a car loan with them now and haven't had any issues with it and the rate was good.

Getting ready to punt usaa for 3 of our vehicles. HORRIBLE service on auto after the hail storm and horrible when adding a new vehicle last week. Sorry for the hijack.

Camping World is the owner of Good Sam and most often will use US Bank to secure your loan. I just got a new loan with them I have excellent credit and it was done in a day. They had a competitive rate.

Not the first time I've heard complaints about usaa auto insurance

USAA has been great with me. Two roofs in 10 months, and no hesitation to total my wife's car after the last hailstorm. Hopefully they don't drop me.

Yeah I've been with USAA for going on 35 years, no complaints whatsoever. Financed multiple vehicles and carried all my car insurance with them. Had a few claims, not many, service was great.

I dealt with USAA for 3 claims in 8 days at the beginning of last year (along with Fred Loya, Geico, and Esurance). USAA was the easiest to deal with (my carrier).

You do not have to have a military affiliation to use USAA's financial products, only its insurance.

Regarding us bank and Good Sam. I have my mortgage and my travel trailer loan through us bank as well as a line of credit and all my checking and savings accounts. They have been wonderful.

No complaints with USB. Checking/savings, boat loan. Been with them for 20 years and have even done business with them in the past as a vendor.

Only thing I was not happy about was tem selling my wife's private student loan, but her credit is crap, so I get it. Mine is stellar, and since I was co-signer, was not pleased.

Trailer financed through dealer over a decade ago was Wells Fargo. Meh, but like any lender, no issues as long as they're paid on time. I've abused their interest free CC offers over the years, so no complaints there either.

If you're considering a CU, I had a stellar rate and dealings with Red Rocks CU for my truck. I probably should have moved the RV over to them when an offer came, but I was just too busy to deal with it.

Sorry about that, it appears they closed it back down. Blanking was open to everyone for a while

Looks like up until 2013 your information was correct.

However with the relatives policy I may be eligible.
