View Full Version : Picking up a suppressor in Denver
I have decided to start the suppressor acquisition process. I'm thinking the Sandman-S is the way I'll go (6.5 creedmoor, and a SR-15 will be what I run it on mostly ). Does anyone have an shop recommendations that do a good job walking someone new to the process through the process?
I know machine gun tours and ark carry Dead air stuff. Any other recommendations?
Thanks.

I got mine (Gemtech) at Ark and they were fantastic. Got me started on a trust first. Took me step by step through the ATF paperwork. And got a sweet deal on the suppressor as well. I'm sure there are many great shops in the Denver area, but I find it hard to believe there is anyone that could have done better than Noah. The same for sure, but there wasn't any room for improvement.
He also is a big fan of Dead Air.

This. Great guy!
Has anyone done the "one stop shopping" at Danger Lee?
Last I heard he was supposed to be all set up to do everything start to finish- finger prints, photos, all paperwork, etc.
Yep, I did it a few months ago. Easy. He has everything. Sign it, put in $200 and mail.

JB out in lakewood is all set up for it.. took a whole like 20 mins to get it done.

Cool. Never heard of Dangerlee. Been waiting to pull the trigger on another suppressor.

He is all set up and should have his shop set up in Elizabeth now. DangerLee has done my latest short barrel/suppressor build. Will post pics when paperwork back.

Any of the FFL's listed will help. Like anything it comes down to who you feel comfortable with. I like MGT and Danger Lee.
Mgt has the best price so far. Ark seemed very nice on the phone but are selling at msrp (may be worth it if they make it a smooth process thought.) Danger Lee has a full voicemail box. Looks like they don't list dead air on their website so perhaps I would have to order it and have it transferred in. Maybe there will be some good 4th of July sales.
Quick question: with the possibility of the hpa passing would you recommend personal transfer or trust?
Tim (DangerLee) is exceptional

Like anything else we hope gets passed in Congress, don't hold your breath on the HPA.

The advantage to a trust is that you can add/remove co-trustees at will. They can then legally be in possession of your NFA item.
Tim @DangerLee would have to acknowledge, but I believe he has access to all inventory/serial numbers for immediate form4 completion, so no dealer-dealer transfer is needed for him to "bring one in." If you buy online, you're going to pay that extra transfer fee and have an extra wait for the dealer transfer.
I've known Tim for years and he is straight up GTG.

That's weird as it's impossible for my voice mail to be full it's a bazillion gigs. I have poor connectivity here at the shop so that might have been it or I must be having an issue with sprint again so I'll look into it in the morning.
In the meantime shoot me a text so we can setup a time for you to swing by to go over your questions and yes I carry every manufacturer that's out there. 303-646-2456 (tel:303-646-2456) you can also email me through my site.
Thanks for the good words fellas!

Yeah, I mean God forbid you try and reach out to Tim on here before going straight to the public smart ass comments, but Tim doesn't need me sticking up for him, as his reputation on here speaks for itself.

Yeah no disrespect meant, Dead Air armament is the manufacturer of the suppressor I wish to acquire. I didn't see them on the Dangerlee website. I'll call or text him again. After all the glowing recommendations I feel it would be foolish. It to investigate them further. The message I got was the full voicemail like when a Verizon box fills up.

When you talk to him though he might be able to snag you a dead air. You never know with his suppliers.

Hopefully, I emailed him this morning.
You can try texting him too. I believe, where he lives his reception isn't that good so sometimes it takes a while to get his voicemails. But, definitely have the patience to reach him; he dont have dead air on hand, but he can order anything from his suppliers. I ordered my dead air wolverine through him. Great guy.
