Long article but what's cool is the way CMP is breaking ground on new electronic target systems. Yes, they had a failure on this one but it's a good view of what's to come for the ranges of the future. I'd certainly like to see a system like this on a local range soon.

I haven't shot my AR since last years Remember the Brave match, I will finally be out shooting at Ben Lomand this coming Sunday. It is on their 600 yard range but I think it is a reduced course match.

I have been shooting on electronic targets at the Olympic Training Center and my basement for years. They are awesome.

The electronic targets I have no issue with, it is the potential of competitions such as the Olympics switching to some form of laser based competition vs the typical gunpowder based.
