We have a bunch of furniture, old car parts, broken stuff, etc. that need to be hauled away.

Don't have enough strength, help, nor transportation to get all that we have to the dump, so looking for a reputable and inexpensive junk "haul away" service that services Colorado Springs.

Any recommendations? Any to avoid? Other ideas (like a fleet of trucks and college kids)?

Post it on Craigslist, Free firewood, free scrap metal- you load. Post photos. It won't all go away, but lots of it will and it will reduce your costs when you pay someone to take the leftovers.

I had a few hundred pickets from a 6' fence we tore down that were broken and had nails in them. I was going to have to pay $70 to get them hauled away, my son posted them on CL and they were gone in two hours...good firewood!

Ask your regular trash company about a special pickup. I was charged a reasonable amount for umpteen trash bags of pine needles, and it was much less than the hassle of dropping them off at the waste transfer place.

There is also the "bagster" from Home Depot. 3300 lbs/three yards, 120 bucks or so. https://www.thebagster.com/default.aspx

iHaul iMove does that kind of thing, and did a great job for our last move. http://www.ihaulimove.com/
