Has anyone seen any good buys? I'll take a look around but I doubt I'll buy anything. I don't really need anything but their boxes do come in handy for organizing stuff.

Did it take you to at least June 31 2013, or did you have to go further back and then wait a while? :)

June 31? that'd be a scary place to be... like some kind of time limbo, wouldn't it?

I looked for a bit this morning. Some good prices but not on anything I really want or need. Naturally.

The first Prime Day was such a joke that I honestly sort of ignored it afterwards. However, I did buy that "deal" on the 8 QT Instant Pot pressure cooker today. Not necessarily a screaming deal, but it's the lowest price its been on Amazon and cheaper than anywhere else I saw. We had been thinking about one and it seemed a good time to buy at $90. I had a VISA GC that I hadn't used in over a year, so was a good enough time to use it.

If you quickly browse through the daily deals and lightning deals once in a while, Amazon prime day is kinda a joke. However it is a fantastic marketing tool. Lots of consumers buying shit the really don't need right.now and buying because it's such a great "deal". There are some bargains today, but unless it's something you have been shopping for it's playing into their marketing strategy.

not many deals to be had on prime day I find. The few items I've looked or searched for, same price as normal or close enough - I'll buy when I need it.

that lantern is interesting. I see a couple of things I don't like so I'll skip on it. 12 AA batteries? 12 hour run time? $12 pack of batteries or so. Kinda costly. Can't turn it down, all you can do is "shade" the light to reduce the output. But I like the idea of it.

I think the 12 AA batteries are for the entire 4-pack of lanterns, not per lantern.

I like the little Moji lanterns, but the cheapest I've seen them is $12 each. Currently $20 on Amazon. Those are dimmable however, and have a nice diffuser so the light isn't too harsh.

I picked up a 4-pack of those lanterns last year. They are Ok for the price. Not really bright. I would like more output for camping. My kids like to use them in their rooms at night. I picked up some Amazon rechargeable AA's so I don't mind if they leave them on all night. 3 per lantern.

I ordered 3 gen2 echo dot's on impulse, then decide an hour later I really didn't need them and cancelled the order. I've some automation with Wink lights and such, but just don't need Alexa. Hell, I barely use the Google bitch on my phone or tablet.

guess it doesn't qualify that in the details... since it is for a 4 pack of lanterns.. 12 AA batteries required. (included)

We grabbed one of those as well. I also picked up an Echo and Echo Dot and security cameras to play with.

Grabbed an 8" Fire HD android tablet for $39.99 (normally $89.99). Gonna be good to just store movies on for flights when I don't want to run down my cell phone.

Made babyback ribs in the Instant Pot from Prime Day tonight . . . first ever attempt at using it. Went from raw to fall-off-the-bone, delicious ribs in about an hour total. Will definitely make again. Seared on the grill real quick beforehand, then 20 mins on meat/stew setting with some apple juice in the pot (factor in an additional 8 mins or so to come up to pressure and another 8 mins or so of hold and pressure release time), then baste and finish in the over at 350 for about 15 mins. Delicious.

Took our Instant Pot through the test run last night, but ran out of time before a family commitment and had to put off cooking until today. It's an interesting piece of hardware. It has more of my cooking interest than sous vide. [Coffee]

8QT Instant Pot is $82 today. https://www.amazon.com/Instant-Pot-Programmable-Pressure-Steamer/dp/B01B1VC13K/ref=gbph_img_m-2_5702_2d744a6a?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=7198fb53-be25-4650-95b4-f3853e625702&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=384082011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=PCBZ2QEHQD96F19BDRZX

I'm picking one up. Too hard to resist.

Yesterday I got an echo Dot + TP-link (only wifi) For $34. Best Buy had the same deal that amazon did, but with a newer model TP-Link plug.

I'm going to try one of those too, looks cool. Might save some time watching over stuff on the regular stove.
