Australian made 22 bolt action rifle. Legacy Sports is the distributor in the US. I picked this one up from Ark Tactical a couple week ago.

Quick range report on the Lithgow LA101. After dialing in the scope, shot an assortment of 22LR ammo through it, which included the following:

- CCI Mini-Mag
- Federal Gold Medal HV Match
- Aquila 22 Match
- Eley Tenex
- Eley Match
- Lapua Midas+

Winner was Lapua Midas+ that shot a five shot 5/16” group at 50 yards off of bipod and rear bag. Worse was Federal Gold Medal HV Match at 13/16”. CCI Mini-mag came in at 12/16". Both Eley Match and Target came in at 7/16” and Aquia 22 Match at 10/16”. First rounds through the rifle and no doubt this one can shoot.

10 shot group of Lapua Midas+ can in at 7/16".

Is it a repeater?

Yes. Came with a five shot magazine or you can use CZ452/455 magazines with it.

Comes with a threaded barrel but to some Aussie spec. Does have an adapter to convert it to the standard US spec.

Next time you are in the area, we can sync up and you can take it with you and test drive it.

Expect folks on this forum would appreciate a range report from you.

Heck with that, bring it down to Pueblo on the 30th. That way a bunch of us can check it out in person.

Might be quicker for Tim or you to bring it down. I'm going to be sweating my butt off in OK.

Approximate cost, if you don't mind me asking?

For the laminate version I have the price was $1132.75 and the synthetic was $941.85 from Ark tactical. Tax and background check are on top of that. ($1223.71 and $1018.49 respectively)

MSRP listed on Legacy's website is $1079 (synthetic), $1215 (laminate).

From Australia here and stumbled across this thread.

I have one of the first left handed version for the LA101, it doesn't have the threaded barrel as the first runs didn't have this option.

I won't lie I had a heap of teething issues and the rifle went back to Lithgow for a couple of month while they resolved the issue.

It shoots well with the more expensive ammo, SK, Eley, Lapua etc. shoots ok with CCI SV.

When hunting CCI minimags are my go to and it shoots minute of rabbit well.

This is a 10 round group off a bipod with no rear rest at 50 metres. Scope is Burris Fullfield E1 3-9x40
Eley Team was used

Welcome to the forum and appreciate the input. That is some good shooting.

Definitely a better known rifle in AUS than in the US.

Is the trigger proprietary? Adjustable? It must not suck since you guys are shooting nice groups.

I'd like to get my hands on one and see what's what. It's good looking, evidently pretty accurate, and relatively affordable. All it needs is an adjustable cheek piece, and that is but two hours work on the laminate stock.

Cool gun.

Oh, welcome Lafoshooter! Fun to have an Aussie here in our little corner of the web.

The trigger is not adjustable but is pretty decent out of the box. I don't have a trigger gauge so can't tell you what the weight is but mine is pretty smooth.

Hi Tim,

I believe the trigger is proprietary and is not adjustable.

You can get a trigger spring kit from Lumley Arms in Australia that reduces the trigger pull to about 2pounds.

I found that the trigger prior to the trigger job was acceptable and smooth with a clean break.

Thanks Marine and Tim I found this thread and had to pipe up.

The centre fire version have just hit the market here in the last few months. .223, .243 and .308

All popular calibres in Australia.

The cool thing about these rifles are they are built in the same factory and machines as our Army's battle rifles. They use the same polymer that goes into the f88 and f90.

It's also built in the same factory as this Lithgow I own..

Nice looking Enfield.

LAFO: We were trading posts on the Rimfire thread. Hopefully you don't mind me copying a post you made there. I found it very informative.

"Hi Mike,

I found the same with the bolt, it was always hard to push home.

What it turned out to be for me was the magazine was slightly out of spec and would sit up in the receiver and the bolt was catching on the rear. We are talking 1mm here but it was enough.

I had a CZ 452 magazine and the bolt became much easier to manipulate. After about 5000 rounds I can honestly say this is best most accurate .22 I have owned. I even have my Dad's old Parker Hale Olympic style rifle in the safe and this outshoots it.

A few month ago on the farm we were plinking at a 4inch steel plate at 200m. Some "professional" hunters were on the farm and they couldn't believe that I was hitting this plate dead centre every shot.

Last week I was at the range practising bench rest at 50 metres no rear bag and 120 / 120 shots were in the 10 ring and I am not a good shot."

Wow we really are a small community even globally.

I do love this rifle. Whether on the range of the farm, it makes me look better :)

Can't wait for range reports from the other side of the world :)
