Awesome which cad program and slicer did you use? Is it abs or pla?

I designed it in Inventor and printed on a Fortus 250 in ABS.

I am testing different free cad programs and blowing off the cob webs. I did spring for simplify 3d as the slicer made a huge difference in print quality.

If that is a home machine well done sir.

I totally want one but keep telling myself I have nothing legit to make, so I'd just be making toys and goofy stuff. ;)

You can be creative and just make stuff you would like designed better or things that require special fixtures for your wild ideas. A few thing I've designed and printed over the years.

I can't remember who but someone made a custom knob for a Dillon powder dispenser or something and sold 'em like hot cakes on here.

We built one, and have used it for some stuff.

They are handy in a pinch!

I've got a Mendel 2.0 I built, and parts to finish another one, plus one commercial MakerBot. All are in the 300x300x250mm print volume class.

Most useful stuff I've printed out are a sealing plug for my HVAC system, mandrel forms for a custom M10 magwell I'm working on, a spool holder mod for my Mendel and some SSD drive tray adapters for my MacPro boxes.
