Hey guys, just moved here from Georgia! Lost all my high capacity magazines in a horrible boating accident. Was hoping for a outdoortrader.com sort of forum, but for Colorado. Appears you gents are it.
So what's shaken?
Welcome. We really should demand better quality control from boat and watercraft manufacturers. Seems boating accidents get more frequent each year.
Airboats don't do well heading west over land, much like covered wagons are not good boats. With the lower humidity, Colorado lacks a ground cushion of air/water mixture which is probably what led to the boating incident. Glad you made it safe. Did anyone in your party die of cholera on the way?
Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your unfortunate boating accident, seems to happen around here a lot, guess we're just bad with boats.

So in regards to applying for a CCW... I have a formerly expired CCW from Georgia that's almost a year expired. Would this allow me to circumvent having to perform the require training?
usacarry.com states:
8. Demonstrates competence with a handgun by one of the following means:
a. evidence of experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competitions or current military service
b. certified firearms instructor
c. honorable discharge from the Armed Forces within past three yearss
d. proof of pistol qualification in Armed Forces within past ten years, if discharged
e. retired law enforcement with pistol qualification within past ten years
f. proof of completion of a handgun training class within the past ten years
b thru e do not apply to me unfortunately.
Dang, sorry about the loss ;)
Welcome aboard! Enjoy the forum.

Yeah if we keep it up we will have to start showing proof of boating and water safety prior to purchasing firearms.

Welcome. Sorry to hear about the boating accident. We seem to hear about things like that more and more. I hope no one was hurt and the standard cap mags were at least not loaded.

NO. An expired one is not valid.. You have to get someone to do a CO class for you.

Welcome to the forum & the wonderful city of Aurora.
You will also have to do your 90 days, to be considered a CO. resident, get a CO. drivers license and bring a ulitilty statement along with your CCW training certificate & filled out but unsigned application to the Arapahoe County Sheriff's office.
Go to their website to print off the application and to see if they changed to appointments only or if is still limited days and hours for submitting the application.

Thanks everyone for your input, much appreciated! Now to find somewhere to take a class. My wife and I both need to take it as we both would be carrying. Any recommendations? Would rather support those on the board rather than some rogue gun store commando.
