Had the choice between ending up in Moab, UT or Albuquerque, NM. I picked Moab thinking it might be a little cooler but guess I was wrong.

Find the mill creek swimming hole located on the east edge of town. Short hike to get there.

Could be worse. My boss chose Vegas in July for our compliance audit. Three days of looking at commercial roofs for eight hours a day. My management group as a whole is not exactly in the right shape for this, so I imagine there will be some promotional opportunity opening up in my unit after about 1:00 PM on Tuesday.

Warm here, too. 104 on the way home from dinner at 7pm last night. 101 today. The upside is I didn't have to travel to be hot.

Thanks. Might check it out for dinner. Looks like it's about a block and a half from the hotel. Might see if the temperature goes down when the sun drops and walk over there.

So can we post photo challenges in this thread?
How about a bag of cheetos on the seat in front of a Moab highway sign?

Wander overto Milt's for a cheap burger & shake. The Moab Diner has good eats. If you're there next week, i can drop a 10 off coupon for some eatery off main st.

Be happy you're not in Baker, CA. It was 117 today. It's 9:11pm local time and 103.

Milts is great. Go see BC and Nellie over there, they have owned the place for the last 10 years. Had a restaurant here in CO before they moved out there.

I will trade you Ray! I'm usually still comfortable at 100°, so long as the bedroom is cool when it's time for sleep. We are pretty much set on Anthem/Phoenix in the next couple years.

You think CO house prices are high!. CA folk and retired folk have jacked the valley prices way up. Don't even ask about traffic [facepalm]

From what we are seeing in Anthem, a really nice place that would accommodate our family, can be had for around $250k.

This one piqued our interest:

Way out of our price range, but for reference, I'm curious what a similar home would bring in the metro area:

Just thought I'd share a picture or two from my road trip so far. This seems like as good a place as any.

Thanks. If you look at the forecast in post #18 it looks like quite a bit of rain. Hopefully that doesn't screw things up.

Flash floods are kind of a big deal around here. They had one somewhere around here yesterday. Nine people confirmed dead and one still missing. Oldest was a 60 year old lady and the youngest was a 2 year old kid.

I'm not afraid of getting a little wet, but I don't want to meet an untimely end here in Arizona.

The one thing to look out for is the WARNING BEWARE OF FLOODS ON ROAD DO NOT PASS WHEN RAINING. We were on a secondary road yesterday and a 10' section has what was left from the side of the road washed across it.

Got a little rained on coming back from the Grand Canyon today. Nothing too serious and we were at 8,000 feet when it started so I doubt we were at much risk of a flash flood that high up.

Well, yeah, look at all of that natural drainage. [Coffee]

Yep, stay safe bro and keep having a great time. I did a southwest tour last fall I think it was, and made it up to Grand Canyon....it was cool for sure.

I'm gonna be living in Prescott or the valley I think. I'm gonna make two more trips down there this fall looking at areas for property and looking for a suitable job.

Thanks for posting up about your travels... cool. :D

Took a short 350 mile ride today that included about a hundred miles of one of the original stretches of Route 66.

Ran into some rain on the way back to Flagstaff but otherwise it was a nice day for a ride.
