Good article about the old time Swiss. My ancestors came from Switzerland and now makes me wonder why I am such a "candyass" (mellow old fart). Perhaps because the genes of my German ancestors got mixed in the gene pool. [shit-happens]

One of the history shows talked about a battle in Switzerland when a bunch of knights wearing Templar markings showed up to fight for Switzerland. I think the speculation is that after the Templar's problems in France some fled to Switzerland. Since they pioneered the banking system that also formed the current Swiss banks. Switzerland also has/had cannons aimed at the mountain passes. In the event of an invasion they could literally blast the roads/mountain passes away.

Going off memory here... the book "400 years of gun control, why isn't it working" I think the author mentioned that the few times a Swiss has chosen a firearm to commit a crime they don't use their service rifle. I think the author was making a point that even with a full auto service rifle in every home none/very few crimes were committed with those weapons.

Makes me more happy to own two Swiss K31's and bayonets, a good stash of GP11 ammo, I also have a WWII Swiss steel helmet. I even have Swiss lineage on my mothers side.
