I think he's right.

Colorado GOP rep declares: ‘The Republican Party is dead’ (http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/colorado-gop-rep-declares-%E2%80%98the-republican-party-is-dead%E2%80%99/ar-AApdP8O)

A Republican congressman from Colorado on Monday declared that the Republican Party is "dead," arguing it "no longer has a vision for a better America."

In an op-ed for The Denver Post (http://www.denverpost.com/2017/07/31/the-republican-party-is-dead/), Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said the party that once had "the blood of the people" coursing "through its veins" is not pursing conservative policies.

"After eight years of assuring that unified Republican government would allow for conservative policy, our Republican Congress has accomplished little, except for passing a spending bill that shackles the aspirations of future generations with crippling debt," Buck wrote.

The editorial slammed the tax code, the healthcare market and government spending, with Buck saying the Republican Party needs a vision and a message to unite the nation. He also criticized special interests, echoing the anti-establishment rhetoric that came to characterize the 2016 presidential election.

"We care about the meaningful. We have a vision for the meaningful," Buck said, speaking for Coloradans.

"If we can pass a balanced budget amendment, a responsible spending bill, and reforms of our health care system, of our tax system, of our entitlement system, and of our immigration system, then we can begin to fulfill the one-time destiny of this party, a destiny to offer hope and prosperity to the people of this great nation."

This is currently on full display. The Republicans have both houses of Congress and the Executive branch....yet they do nothing of major importance. Instead of getting the Federal Govt. the hell out of healthcare, they want to "make it better", i.e. throw more taxpayer money at it.

As I've said for years, the Democrats and Republicans are both out to screw the citizens of this country. One is a right hand threaded screw, the other is left hand threaded. Although I must admit that if it weren't for 'identity politics', it'd be awfully difficult to tell them apart.

This is why I laugh at folks who vote Democrat when they worry about Republicans taking over. They're quaking in their panties that "Oh no it'll be a theocracy and blah blah blah talking points." I tell them over and over again that while when Democrats are in office, they always push through their policies, that once the R's are in, they're too chickenshit to really do much of anything.

I believe that publicans are much more valuable to society than any politician. [Beer]

Don't forget Lisa Murkowski from Alaska... I haven't lived there since 1988, but the politics are easy (and sometimes fascinating) to follow....

Historically they have made lots of deals to try and keep the state relevant, especially on the Senate side... (the House side is hard to keep relevant given the population)

ETA: not to discount McSame... saw evidence of being him bought and paid for when I left AZ 20 years ago.

The Colorado GOP became the uni-party with the communists.

Neoconservatives are partisans to socialism and big government.

Still waiting/hoping/wishing this would happen. I think they would be amazed with how many more votes they would get too. Instead of people holding their nose to vote R to keep the D's from winning or losing more and more votes to the 3rd party every year they would take from the D, they would keep the L and only lose a small percentage of the R party because... well... where else are they going to go? D? lulz

They can keep barely winning/losing elections while not representing our nation and freedom or they can start running away with every election and put the D in the same seat the R is in right now which is wondering at what point history passed them by and how they became the racist party so soon after championing the abolition of slavery. If they went full L the D party would suddenly look like the out-of-touch senior citizens.

The R wants to get younger, more diverse and more relevant? I can think of no better way. It would happen nearly overnight too.

The only problem is that the "libertarians" that ran in the last presidential election were a bunch of crazy leftists themselves. The constitution at this point has long been wiped and flushed down the toilet, the constitutional republic is long dead, killed long ago by politicians interested in keeping themselves in their lucrative positions and voters who don't even have any concept of basic common sense and morality.
