I thought Rich Wyatt was supposed to sentenced yesterday or today? Anyone have any news?

Just found this:
https://gunsources.com/rich-wyatt-prison-sentence/

He fired his attorney, who was going to withdraw according to the linked blog, so the judge will allow his new one some time before the sentencing.

REMINDER TO OUR MEMBERSHIP:

By just the second post in this thread a mod had to go in and remove the post.

One of the things that sets this site apart from so many others is that we exhibit class in our posts. I find it unsettling that, far too often lately, our membership has to be reminded of this.

We all understand that Rich Wyatt is a dirtbag whose actions helped tarnish the image of all firearm owners in the eyes of the general public. Because of his actions, he's made himself fair game to practically anything that will be said about him. However, this does not extend to his family. In the past we've taken liberties in poking fun at Rich's family members. While cute at times, this isn't the type of behavior our site should be known for. Lets leave them out of this and let the one who deserves our rebukes stand alone in his shame.

Stay classy CO-AR15.

Sounds like this is going to be a day. [Censor]

I don't understand why this DB gets so much attention on this board.

No we just have others who have the dear diary mentality and apparently you can't say mean things to them either.. this is now a 'safe space'

With all due respect that entire mess of a family deserves whatever classless and tactless verbal barbs that are thrown their way. I am not typically the type to fling such obscenities but I hate the concept and idea of "safe spaces or places" As the saying goes not my house not my rules though.

This site is far from anything that could be considered a "safe space", but maintaining a certain level of class isn't beyond anyones reach here.

Memes are fine, so long as they don't pander to the lowest common denominator.

This thread is about RICH Wyatt, not his family. Let's keep this thread on track and not derail it with crap just to be mean to his family or others.

I'm mystified as to why this concept, the concept of showing some class, seems so foreign to so many.

I think most people don't see any difference between him and his family. In a lot of ways there isn't any difference. They were there and knew what he was doing and in a lot of ways participated in his activities. People are allowed to bash him for his actions yet they aren't allowed to bash his family for his actions that they were a part of. That is what they don't get...

According to the investigators and the prosecutors, Rich Wyatt is the target. I don't recall seeing any members of his family being indicted. If the law can see the difference in culpability, we should be able to recognize it as well.

I'm sure there are plenty of places on the Internet where people can go bash anyone they choose. Not here.

Thank you for your cooperation.

I'm surprised they don't have pending charges against his wife too. I thought she was the genus that did the books or had some crazy properties in her name or something.

I think most people don't see any difference between him and his family. In a lot of ways there isn't any difference.

Some would see it as guilt by association. The wife clearly would be aware of his nefarious dealings doing the books if not equally guilty herself. The son guilty of incredibly poor craftsmanship in his chosen profession which directly contributed to his fathers business practices (obviously not related to this case) but the contempt spills over to the entire family some are just more verbal and negative about it going places they might otherwise should reconsider..

I just hope that his sentencing reflects an accurate assessment of his misdeeds.

It's unlikely that Mr. Wyatt will receive the sentence he deserves for the crimes he committed, but I hope he gets what is allowed by law for the crimes he was convicted of.

I have been reliably informed that FaceBook is for old people. People like me, in their 30's. I have no idea what teenage girls use instead though.

I had forgotten all about the Gunsmoke debacle until this thread. It certainly appears to be bad business all the way around.

From the sister thread. He posted that in March of last year. We should ask him if he still thinks he won't see actual jail time. Despite what the judge sentenced him to, I have little idea how jail/prison stuff works.

There is federal probation, there is no federal parole, it was replaced by "supervised release". Rich Wyatt will never see the inside of a "pen".

Despite what the judge sentenced him to, I have little idea how jail/prison stuff works.I still stand by my comment, in regards to the original charges, Rich Wyatt will never see the inside of a United States Penitentiary AKA "Pen", those are reserved for much more "worthy" inmates. Whatever Rich Wyatt decides to do with his time once he arrives to his facility is up to him, and I can't predict that, but he could certainly work his way up to a "Pen".

Wait, I'm genuinely confused now. Are you saying he'll spend time somewhere, just not inside the "pen?"

Wait, I'm genuinely confused now. Are you saying he'll spend time somewhere, just not inside the "pen?"I was merely responding to the usage of the term "Pen", which are reserved for the worst of the worst, not for people with charges like Rich Wyatt has. He will likely be designated to a low security facility, and then work his way down to a camp (think Rod Blagojevich). It was my bad assuming everyone knew the different terminology.
