I'm curious why we can't get a "like" button or something similar here?
Often times I read a post and either agree with what is being said or maybe find it humorous. Having a simple "like" button to let the poster know his comment was appreciated would be a nice touch.

If I liked it, click a button. No post.
If I hated it, click a button. No post.
A lot of the other forums have a "thanks" button, and then there is a little Times Thanked under your screen name. Not sure if it makes me feel any different about various posts though. I would hate to see a reddit style karma system that promotes group think mob mentality.
A Disqus style up or down vote would be cool.

That's more of a question for the guys that have cooler buttons than I do but it all depends on what our version of Vbulletin offers. I'm sure upgrades can be made but the software isn't cheap.

How can you promote a Like button, when people still have no clue they can't BTT every 30 minutes.
Post more stuff in the trading post. That will get you all the Like's you need.
Can we get a button that acknowledges in a very obvious way that a post isn't worth responding to and is being ignored?
If we simply just ignore it, how will they know?

I agree- the 'like' button does tend to put an end to discussion before it even begins.
I enjoy seeing the various discussions on the forum, even if it's a "+1" which means not only a "like" but indicates an agreement.

How about real time text alerts for new threads? Keyword or importance filtered.
Give a thread a high priority flag that stays on for 24 hours (or something) and all members get pinged (if they choose). Mods could limit who has that power (I shouldn't :) ).
For example... I could subscribe to any breaking #DroppedGun threads. Ray could subscribe to any #FatHandsHate threads. #Idaho in a thread sends Bailey a text. I don't want to know what tags Kazoo comes up with...

Nope.. need a dislike too.. No reason people should be delusional and think people like them. I'm ok with being disliked.. I'd like to see just how much so I can work harder at it.
