Need a spring for and old one

I cannot find a trigger (return) for an 1880's Remington Smoot #4 38 RF pocket revolver.
Gun works other than that part.

Anyone suggest a source or someone that could make a spring?

Have you tried Numrich Gun Parts ? They are an excellent supply for old gun parts.

Couldn't find the spring at numrich. They had a few other parts, which I don't need.

Figure out the od of the spring, and go to a good hardware store. Or look online for one. Cut to size when you get it in. McMaster has springs down to 0.1in or so

Looks like it iix a leaf spring. I have a small piece that fell out when I took off the grips. Very difficult to figure out where the spring goes. Must have been broken for decades, there are no obvious wear marks to go on. I haven't found a schematic yet.

Post a pic and measure the dia. I have several different diameters of spring wire. Specifically for this reason.

I have a rifle that I bought a spring kit for that replaced a flat spring with a wire spring. They just bent the wire in a U shape. It works better than the original. Seeing how well that worked I replaced a broken flat spring with a spring made out of round wire on pistol. So far it has worked well.

Sand thanks for the pictures. I still cannot see where this flat spring might go. It is 3/16" x 5/8"

When pointing down the trigger moves via gravity and the gun cocks, rotates the cylinder and snaps properly. Not when pointing up and the trigger stays back.
Spring has to be the problem.

This is my neighbor's gun. His daughter wants to keep the gun in the family. Can't disagree with that. So, I don't get to work on it anymore.
