We slept through it, it was still burning monday morning.
Weren't they in the middle up restoring/rebuilding? Maybe construction related?

This > <close to completion with (iirc) a november - Jan 18 open date. One would "think" with all the fencing surrounding the site, it would keep wanders out. Alledgedly the WPD had numerous contacts with other than permitted personnel on a daily basis.

Let me guess, shit bag travelers?

This is the best alibi you could come up with? [ROFL1]
Who stood to profit the most from the fire? Who opposed the completion of the renovation?
I wonder which accelerant and how much was used?
That thing smoldered for 4 days after being put out originally. My old neighbor showed me video of it. He said it was about 15-20 minutes before the first fire engine showed up (Nearest station is about 5-6 blocks away)

Wasn't it under construction for years and years? Wonder if someone finally realized the ROI would never happen...

That's been under 3 owners. The current one just took ownership last year.
Friend of mine lives directly across the alley to that mill, he had to drive his dump truck through his fence into his yard to save it. He also spent the night spraying water on his house, detached garage, and shed to keep them from combusting. And turned his sprinklers on to keep the lawn from lighting up. He said it was insanely hot, melted the tail lights off his truck, and damaged his siding.
Saw your friend on the news the next morning.
Do you have a link? It may not have been him as he went to work the morning after.
