Wife and I are wandering down near 470 and Lucent early evening. Where is a decent place to grub that's not too spendy in the vicinity?

On a serious note, there is LoDo's South of C470 off of Quebec. Or there is a Steak N Shake in the shopping center on the Nw corner of Countylinne & Quebec.
But after you deal with the construction traffic on C470, you may not be in the mood for food.

Los Dos Patrillos on Broadway south of 470 if you like Mexican food.

Mi Cocina just north of 470 on Broadway for good Mexican food and $1 Corona's.

No No's Cafe is really good if you like Cajun food.

The last time I ate there...was the last time I ate there. Yuck.

Mi Cocina was good the last time I ate there, but they seemed to be in some kind of transition. They also have a more limited menu than the Littleton location...to set expectations.

Yeah, we've only been to the Broadway location once, and I think they had just finished either a remodel, or just moved in, food tasted the same as the Belleview location tho, which is the one we used to frequent before getting on the healthy food train.

At No Nos the only thing to get on the menu is the smothered blackened catfish. Most everything else is ok but nothing great.

Our ribeye had much to be desired but the Crawfish etoufee was really good.

I'd say Los dos is the best Mexican food around the area.

In a different style, we now have a Raising Cane's location... chicken fingers. Just south of C470/Lucent.

This will be a problem for me. One of the few things good about my Texan experience.

Tried this for the first time last week and maybe it's because I got it to go, I wasn't that impressed. I mean it's hard to mess up chicken fingers but still. If it was in my backyard maybe, worth making a special drive? Nah.

I'll stick with Chick Fil A. Love their nuggets.

Cane's sucks in to go format. If you get it to go you need to put the fingers & fries under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp things back up. They get pretty soggy if you get them to go & I have a feeling many people have had a poor first experience as a result.

For Best results eat there. The Arnold Palmer is one of the best you'll find. Get an extra sauce instead of the slaw & dip everything in it... Save for the Arnold Palmer.

Was just down at chatfield yesterday.. stopped at hogback bbq... fucking delicious. Brisket was great and the ribs had so much meat I could barely finish.. had to give one up.

Slaw was good.. collards were ok, but I grew up on collards so I'm picky. Lacked flavor

We've passed that place several times, and have wondered how it is, thanks for the info, we may have to stop next time. Buying for 4, I tend to not take as many risks these days, and just go where we know.

I like Landsdowne Arms in the shopping center area east of Home Depot. HR Parkway and Lucent. Really good fish and chips. Guinness and Smithwicks on tap. Not really inexpensive though.

Same here, I'll have to search it out. Interesting take on the collards. Did they go vegetarian and leave some form of smoked/salted pork out of it?

I like Cane's, but it's nothing spectacular (but better than the sweet battered Chick-fil-a). I've skipped the slaw for an extra toast. I've found that I like the Louisiana hot sauce on top of their dipping sauce. Mmmm.

As for Mi Cocina, I really like their pan fried shredded beef tacos.

I have yet to find anything at Los Dos Patrillos that I don't like. Their salsa is a bit warm and a little goes a long way. I notice that the mediocre Carlos Miguel's is already out of business. I think it's a matter of time before Salsa Brava is done as well.

I haven't been to Lansdowne for a couple of years. Their cooking staff seemed to have changed and quality deteriorated. For a while, they were top-notch and even their burgers and sandwiches were very good. I've been to Old Blinking Light once. The food was good, but I think I'm still financing that meal.

Interesting - seen that place too and often wondered. Just recently, in fact.

Depending on where "down south" you're talking about, most joints with a lot of pickup trucks and/or cop cars parked around are good bets.

Like a middle of nowhere truck stop with a full parking lot. It's either the food or some talented lot lizards ;)

Or more often, easy tractor-trailer parking .... [Coffee]

Which reminds me .... some people's definition of "down South" does not match mine....
