From FoxNews:
Armed employees at a Cleveland Taco Bell shot and killed a would-be robber early Wednesday, police said.
Police responded to the store in the city's Edgewater neighborhood shortly before 3 a.m. and found the suspect suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
A second suspect fled the scene.
Investigators say five Taco Bell employees were in the store when the suspects came in wearing masks and ordered them to get on the ground. Three of the employees opened fire, striking the suspect.
Police said no arrests had been made.
In a statement, Taco Bell said the company was offering counseling to the restaurant workers and was cooperating with the investigation.
Outstanding! Give 'em a raise.
wait... Taco Bell has no corporate policy against employees carrying? Outstanding.

It ain't over yet ... corporate will get around to firing this guy at some point (maybe they got smart and they don't do it right away so it doesn't generate as much bad press).
Can't have the proles standing on their own two feet now.

I may be in the minority on this, but I actually like Taco Bell's food.
The problem with Taco Bell is that people think of it as "Mexican Food" ... sure if you compare it to places like La Casita or Chipotle, it's crap (and this goes triple for [insert your favorite local mom and pop Mexican joint here]). But if you just think of Taco Bell as its own distinct and separate genre of food it's quite enjoyable.

I hope the employees don't get in trouble, but I think it's an awesome outcome for the robber.

Tacos and Pistols
That could be the name of a new band.
Well.... after all it IS Cleveland....sort of like Detroit, only a little farther south.

Makes me recall a blotter in Grand Junction many years ago. Suspects were arrested for breaking and entering a taco Bell drive through. They couldn't break into the register so they took a canister. Shortly thereafter, they were arrested. They had managed to get away with a canister of taco Bell sporks. Hell of a thing to get a felony for.
I remember reading a short bit in a newspaper (way back when newspapers actually reported news) about a case in either Texas or California where a prisoner was suing because his feelings had been hurt and his reputation in prison damaged. It seems the poor guy had stolen a semi with a refrigerated container but when the law caught up with him, the arresting officer saw the cargo listing and promptly burst out laughing.
"Do you know what you stole?" he asked the would-be thief. The cargo listing said "beef anuses" but the officer translated that for the ignorant criminal and told him he had a truck full of cow's asses. Apparently word of his theft spread to the prison population, prompting the lawsuit.
IIRC, the judge (this being back when judges had sense and hadn't been twisted by the leftist nonsense in the Harvard Law Review) threw out the suit.
Hey, I can see the thief's side of this. Not many guys want to be known as "The Butthole Bandit" in prison.
