Damn it! I just lost all respect for the Governator. Disgusting lack of respect for the second amendment. I am appalled....

Reading stuff like that almost makes me thankful for Gov Ritter... almost.

Yikes, I agree with you, but that is a very intense thought.

Damn Arnold, you'd think after all the ammo he's fired in all his movies he wouldn't be so foolish as to sign this bill. Oh well....the Left coast!

I can't imagine living in that state.

Note that law doesn't apply to the non-law abiding. It will only affect the law-abiding person.

Note also that you can drive across state lines to Nevada, Arizona or Oregon and buy ammo and bring it back to CA. Think there might be an opportunity for a black-market entrepeneur to make a killing (figuratively speaking)?

Sounds like a good business to get into! You could open an ammo store right on the border, just like the casinos that sit right on the borders.[Coffee]

Pretty soon they're going to have customs checkpoints to enter Commiefornia.

That might not be such a bad thing, as it would allow bordering states
to control what (or who) comes out of the geographical anus that is Kalifornia.[M2]

Next you'll have to leave a DNA sample.

Good point, could save us a lot of trouble.

I fail to understand how these laws keep popping up. It is like people in America fail to look at simple facts. Mexico, just for example, has some of the world's strictest gun laws, tons of good that does. That's just one example. I only use it due to geographic similarities, as anyone who has looked at the drug war knows, narcotics generally go through Mexico on their was into the US, mostly untouched, as I am sure guns/ammo could do as well. If you were to look city to city across the US, there is no correlation between tight gun laws and low crime rates, much less a relation of causation. In fact the opposite claim has more truth to it. It's sad that people claim to be so logical and rational, but fail to use logic or reasoning, while accusing gun owners of being paranoid lunatics. I suppose the defense of the Constitution, participating in a national pastime of hunting and shooting which has certainly helped our troops stay alive in a number of wars, more than one on our own soil, and put food on many a table, and protecting our selves and our own families is a little crazy. Ah logic, you are so elusive!

Doesn't urine have DNA in it?

These CA laws keep popping up because the population there is truely 85% "don't give a shit" or "not intelligent enough". They keep popping up because certain CA politicians want to irradicate guns (mostly pistols) in the state. They know they can't do it directly, so they chip away at it making it harder for manufacturers and dealers to do business there. It's called success through attrition. I used it this as a cop at times. It's effective, slowly annoying a person or group till they see giving in to the request to make the annoyance go away. It takes steel resistance to counter, and it isn't easy.

There is only DNA in urine if the person is a secretor (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/secretors) or has a medical condition that is releasing blood into the urinary tract, or has semen in his urine. You only get half a DNA profile from the semen. And before you ask, a stool sample the chances of DNA are almost zero.

I was stationed at Travis AFB for 2 1/2 years. The beginning of the attrition campaign started while I was there. It started with stupid shit like having to drop test every model a gun manufacturer wanted to sell in the state. It didn't matter testing a Glock 17 was like tested every glock model made. Glock had to submit a different model for every one they wanted to sell. It was like this across the board. It cut down on a lot of models being sold there. Manufacturers just submitted the good sellers and didn't submit the rarer models. Some manufacturers told CA to go F themselves. The latest douchebaggery was the microstamping... As a cop who's been involved in the forensics of firearms a lot, I can tell you this is completely worthless. I can also tell you there is only one company that makes the uber expensive microstamping machinery. So, the loss of more manufacturers. The same for CA gun makers and dealers. They are a disappearing breed.

They just don't get it. FL got it in 1985 and has seen a huge decline in their violent crimes. Best thing would be for the fault line to give and slide the detritus off into the ocean in one big swoop.

I feel sorry for those who are unfortunate enough to have to live in California due to family or economic reasons.

But when it comes down to it, this is perfectly fine. If a state wants to impose rediculous and detrimental legislation upon its citizens thats fine with me. The problem arises when California representatives hike on over to congress and try to convince others that their model of government (which has put the most prosperous state in the union unfathomably in debt) is something that the rest of us should be forced to live under.

Anyone else catch Commando last night on one of the HBO's? I find it a little ironic that a man who's fame was gained by weapons (body building wouldn't have gotten him very far) is now so anti weapon.

I'LL SECOND THAT. We should all remember that there are many real Americans in California too. I truly feel for them. Remember, we are collectively looking at an administration that is turning our entire nation into the sewer that is California now. We are not having much success stopping it either...

"The Amount of tyranny you are willing to put up with is the exact amount you will be subject to."
this is California for sure

A couple well placed, simultaneous, underground nuclear tests could create a "super earthquake" and Kalifornia could slide into the ocean once and for all!!!
