View Full Version : BOLO - stolen dump truck
We had a dump truck stolen up near Fort Lupton. Last seen near Platteville. You'd think something the size of a dump truck would be difficult to hide. It's a white Freightliner with a black dump bed and there is a crane mounted behind the cab. It says "Colorado Interstate Gas" on the sides. If anyone spots it call the authorities.

I guess I'm not really criminally inclined, because I don't really see the point in stealing a dump truck, other than to part out the engine maybe?

You've obviously never seen Die Hard 3. It's for stealing gold, silly.

When a Jeep cherokee no longer cuts it for your smash and grabs...bollards stand no chance.

Exactly, I'd check the storefront of Bass Pro or Cabelas tomorrow morning.

Came here to post same....
Funny thing is we didn't know it was missing at first. Police spotted it blocking an alley and called to tell us we needed to move it. When we told them someone had apparently stolen it they went back but it was gone.

Does it have big numbers painted on the roof of the cab? Easy for a helicopter to see that. Maybe I am just thinking Miami...

So many uses for a truck like that to scumbags! I'll get my eye out.
Guess what's driving into the next gun store!!!!
If it doesn't show up it probably is a Strip it down sell the motor tranny diffs dump bed and hydraulics scrap the frame the dump truck business is hopping right now sadly it is pretty easy to scrub it
I'll keep an eye out for it.

See DF's reply. Trucks like this have already been pre-sold, either locally or an out of state / country buyer. The trailer scrappedor more than likely a definite south of the border buyer.

There was some furniture in the bed when the cops spotted it. We were hoping maybe somebody just "borrowed" it to offload their old furniture and that maybe they'd return it when they were done.

OR they're hopped upjoy riders.
It's going to Mexico to help with the earthquake relief effort.
Or could be a muzzie with designs to take a high speed drive down the 16th St. Mall.

Did the cops go speak to the owner of the property where they spotted it blocking the alley? They've gotta know something.....
Well, I don't knock the details but the dump truck found its way home. Still has the furniture in the bed.
On its own? or did law enforcement intervene? Enquiring minds want to know!
That's an odd one. I guess someone "borrowed" it.

Honestly, I have no idea. I just noticed it sitting here when I came in today. If I bump into any of the pipeline guys I'll see what they know. It does appear that someone tried to remove the company logos and DOT numbers from both sides of the vehicle so perhaps someone was planning on keeping it.

Cool, free furniture instead. That worked out for the better!
