Running into a small dilemma and was hoping for a bit of guidance from those more knowledgeable with these issues...
A while back I picked up a (new in box) limited edition Colt 6920 SOCOM II, (only 1500 units made, w/ DD RIS II and "M4A1" rollmark). The rifle has only a modest round count so far, (and I no longer have the original box).
What I'm trying to figure out is, from a long-term/collector value perspective, how important is it to keep everything original, vs making limited/minor upgrades (e.g. changing the grip & collapsible stock)? Would replacing minor parts/furniture lower the overall (collectable) value of something like this, especially considering it does see the occasional use?
Any thoughts or perspective would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks!
