Any experience with these actions and/or rifles?
https://www.vudoogunworks.com/patented-vudoo-v-22-rimfire-repeater-action/
There is a favorable discussion thread over at Sniper's Hide, so I thought I'd ask here for some local experience.
Seems like an alternative to joining the "40x Mafia" hehehe....

Interesting website. Their action is more than the Big Horn TL3 I bought last year. I like the idea of a rimfire receiver that fits the Rem 700 footprint.
I do like the looks of the Raven.
Buy one and let us know. They sure look good. We'll make you an honorary member of the 40X Mafia.
They are a 40X rimfire clone with a couple small, but significant changes.
But that Anschutz 1727 is calling out to me.

The feedback and hype has been good so far. The guy that is building and selling these also designed the 40x mags and inlet pattern everyone is using on their 40x conversions. I would be weary though. A good friend enlightened me on the owner's past deeds and they were pretty shady. If it was in your hands I would say buy it, but if your sending him money to "pre-order" I would beware.

Well, being the compulsive buyer that I am I ordered one today[Hyper]. Talked with them for quite a bit on the phone and placed the order. Looking at 4-6 weeks and will post a review after I put it through its paces.

Damn this site is hard on the wallet...
I spent some time on the phone with them as well. It sounds like a great starting point to build a project. Pricey, but buying a 40x isn't cheap anymore...
ETA: No, I don't have one on order yet... I have another project I have to finish first or the wife will not be happy.

And another CZ shooter comes to the dark side.

I may have a very nice CZ up for sale soon
Did you order a barreled action, or just the action?

Went with a barreled action. They can do most big name barrels (Bartlett, Kreiger, Lilja etc) but they say they have been having best luck with a small Benchrest barrel manufacture, ACE barrel ?, so I went with their recommendation.
Have an XLR Element chassis that has been collecting dust so plan on dropping it in the Element chassis which I really like.

Sweetness! Can't wait to see the new hotnesss.
Awesome. Cant wait to see it.
Vudoo owners are Honorary members of the 40X Mafia I suppose.
Instead of cookies, honorary members get Fig Newtons.

Hey Guys, just joined here after spending some time reading through a few of the threads about the 40X Repeater Conversion and Vudoo V-22. I designed both and wanted to make myself available if anyone has questions, etc., about either. Feel free to reach out anytime.
Thanks,

Picked up the barreled action today. Cleaned up the action and barrel. Dropped in a Jewel trigger. Vortex PST GenII 5-25 and XLR Element Chassis. Put some CCI SV down the tube to get her up and running.
Groups were not great but didn't really expect much with it being CCI and very first rounds through the barrel. After 50 rounds of CCI tried some Eley Edge to get a true idea of how it might shoot. Initial Impression is VERY positive.
50 Yard groups were excellent and 100 yards also pretty good. These were indoors so no wind but had to shoot from their bench which is awkward for me. Can't wait to try some more ammo and shoot prone where I usually shoot better.

Excellent.
Good group from a random lot of Edge. Are you going to have it lot tested this spring at the OTC?

Possibly, but that would mean I would need to buy another case of 22 [facepalm]
Why is it that every time I talk with you or shoot with you it cost me thousandS of $$ ?

I just addressed this elsewhere so while I'm at it, I'll address it here as well. Your "good" friend, and now you, are sorely misinformed. There were two other partners in that company, one of which I physically removed from the property when I discovered his business practices and the other can be easily identified by doing a MT LLC search. There was a lawsuit and a ruling that clearly indicates what they are responsible for and any angst can be taken up with them. If you, others here or elsewhere had no first hand knowledge of anything, it's best to not spew b.s. when you have no idea what you're talking about.

Just take a minute, have ammo, targets set up, lay on my comfy mat...
Oh, OK

Hoser,
How does one go about having a rifle lot tested at the Olympic Training Center? Is it all Lapua ammo?
Excellent.

Or just ELEY?
Hoser,
How does one go about having a rifle lot tested at the Olympic Training Center? Is it all Lapua ammo?
Eley comes up every year for the Junior Olympics and brings their mobile test lab.
They test only Eley Edge and TenX.
You can get in touch with Killough Shooting Sports in Texas to schedule an appointment.
The Lapua test facility is in Mesa AZ. Last I knew, no mobile testing.

Because I love to tinker and good is never good enough I did a little firing pin modification/reshaping to the Vudoo. I have previously done the same to my CZ and had good results.
Here is a link to the mod and discussion of the potential benefits: http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=602579
And here is a pic of the progression of the reshaping of the firing pin strikes.
Would love to hear your thoughts MB?

I'd be interested in a more controlled study. The reason I say this is, based on the nature of the modification, the area being struck is smaller, but the energy in the system is the same. Without making certain accommodations in the modification, results will vary. Given the inertia in the fire control, I keep the spring rate as low as possible, but still provide a very short lock time. The challenges associated with an across the board design for who-knows-how-many-intended-uses, ALL ammo has to ignite reliably, which is one of many reasons I strike across the case rim.
The LH action is launching in January and you'll notice the fire control is setup differently. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the current fire control, but like you, I don't stand still either. The energy in the system is the same, but protrusion is adjustable.
