Hi all,

With the HPA and SHARE dead in the water (for now) I'm looking at starting the process on a suppressor.

I've got a Sig P228 and a CZ Scorpion EVO gen1, both will be running 13.5x1 LH muzzle threads.

I'm looking at the SilencerCo Octane 9 HD 2 and Osprey 9

Anybody with these that can offer a comparison, or maybe even a demonstration?

Thank you

From my perspective, I would rather have a 45 cal can as it opens more options. The difference between the Octane 45 and 9 is only about an inch and you can use all the same pistons on it and run 45, 357 Sig, 40 S&W, 10, 9mm, 300 BO sub, etc. Osprey is the same in that regard as well. Big advantage to Osprey is not having to change sights on low sight handguns that you installed a barrel on and did not install hi sights. PM me if you'd like.

Agree with PW. Go with a 45 can, it's that much more adaptable. I was going with a 9mm can sometime back, switched to a 45. Happy i did so i can shoot 9, 45 and 357.

Definitely go "up" a caliber if you can. I don't have any pistol cal cans, but with my .30 cal I run it on everything .30 down to .22 (with thread adapter rockset in place on barrel).

Did you have the scorpion barrel re-threaded?

Nope, getting an adapter.

That makes scenes. Adapter to match the sig barrel. With 9mm my mind automatically goes to 1/2x 28.

Ridge swing on by the new shop brother. I have 50 plus in the case and a handful more on display guns to check out buddy. Same distNce to the storefront as it was to my home shop.

I'm still matching or beating internet pricing here as I did at the house!

I think I had one of these when I first got my Evo. Since I had mine cut & rethreaded for the k conversion I may still have one around although I seem to recall selling it. I'll double check but it'll probably be this weekend.

I can offer neither- however, I can, as an owner of a SilencerCo Product (Saker 762), say that they are quality products, and their customer service is top notch! Great group of people and really well built products. I will say if you're looking for a good distributor that will help with getting the purchase done smoothly, 5280 Armory did great by me with my purchase and was very helpful.

I am glad you're not closer to me. Your service and prices, along with another members store, are what gun buying is about.

Visited Danger Lee yesterday and Tim and Mike were very helpful answering all my questions on a whole variety of subjects. I've pretty much settled on the Osprey at this point.

If you run a glock depending on the light it will have to come off unless you want your suppressor canted to the side.

Bit the bullet today, and ordered an Octane 45 from DangerLee.

Thank you Tim and the rest of the staff at DangerLee for putting up with my indecisiveness for the past 5 months!

Did you file individual or trust?

Ridge

Going individual because historically they have come back quicker. If I want to later, I'll pay another $200 to move it to a trust.

Or put it in your will for the next of kin to form 5 it .

That's a definite possibility. As it stands, nobody is going to be using that thing (legally) unless I'm with them, so a trust wasn't worth it to me at this time.

That is why I didn't do a trust either. I am about to send in a few more form 4's in the next week. These things are addicting.

Yeah I'm finishing up a Form 1 right now for the Scorpion as well :)

Nice, nice.

I'm kinda surprised that it says .45 will be louder, given that it's subsonic already...

Its customization that is key with the one. You can change end caps and mount it to most pistols and rifles. Even though the internals are static and the pieces cost and arm and leg. And the suppressor is $899 too so it is pricey to get into but should calm down after a while and work on a lot of hosts. I hope.

What I have found is it is way better to have dedicated suppressors for guns then having one multi use if you take a bunch of guns to the range. I thought I would only need one pistol caliber can, but it is a pain switch from a scorpion to a handgun and back again. So I just bought two more one of them being dedicated rimfire.

Just got my TBAC 22 Take Down out of jail. Got to shoot it today with Gemtech subs. Giggity.

I have rifle cans, no real need for a convertible.

However, this thread has me interested in an Osprey 45K... cause sights.

Price check, aisle 3.

I was on the fence between the TBAC 22 and Dead Air mask, I ended up with the mask only because I bought another Dead Air at the same time.

How long was your wait?

372 days from cashed to stamped. Ridonkulous.
