My girlfriend and I are taking a trip up to Glenwood Springs on Thursday and staying till Saturday. Neither of us have ever been there before so we are looking at things to do. Does any one have some suggestions on 'have to do' things while you are there? Food, entertainment, breweries, etc.

Next to the Denver Hotel there is a brewery/restaurant that I forget the name of at the moment.

Say hi to the Amish folks for me.

I find the adventure park to be much more fun than the big smelly gross pool.

FYI the main bridge into town (hwy 82) is being reconstructed. It's a total disaster to go from the north side of town to the south side.

Rush hour to Aspen starts at 5.00 am and the que can be 2 hours. Stay on the I70 side hotels and walk into town on the Ped Bridge.

Rush hour in the evening starts around 2.30 and lasts till 8.00 pm. Same 2-3 hour que.

We just spent this past weekend in Glenwood for a little getaway. Agree wholeheartedly about Iron Mountain being better than the big pool. It’s a better facility and geared towards adults relaxing. Plus they serve alcohol there if you partake in that sort of thing.
The Italian Underground restaurant is a classic for dinner. Normally we recommend Juicey Lucy for a nice dinner, but our last two times there have been very disappointing. As mentioned by others, the brewpub in the Hotel Denver is good and the Pullman bar across from the train station is good too.

http://www.glenwoodcanyon.com/ - Seems like a decent place that has good reviews. Also found an Indian restaurant which would be a new type of food to me that I have never tried.

There’s a little bar called Doc Holidays kind of by the bridge. Nothing fancy or extravagant but the spousal unit and I usually find ourselves having lunch there at least once every time we visit.

Oh, and weather permitting you could make the short hike up to Doc Holiday’s grave.

That all sounds good. I will definitely add the Iron Mountain to our list.

I've walked through that area before, and it was cool..... in a creepy way.

The town does kinda shut down at about 10:00 pm, so be aware of that if you are wanting to eat later than "normal folk" do.

He said he's taking his girlfriend, not her daughter.

I grew up in Glenwood. Hiking to Docs grave for Halloween was something that we did as high school kids back in the day.
