Have a Mossberg with blond wood and the stock and forearm are not a perfect match. I want to stain the wood a light French walnut color. I used to use homer fornby, but that is no more. Haven't done this in years,so, am looking for stain recommendations.

Might look into Watco's Danish Oil too. I used some on my Rossi's stock, which is some kind of tropical mystery wood from Brazil, with good results.

Use water based, much easier to balance colors

If it's sealed up, you'll have trouble getting any stain to penetrate.
