View Full Version : 2 Stage trigger recommedation
Does anyone have a 2 stage trigger they really like?
Considering these:

Hopefully this isn't a 9mm vs 45 type debate!

IMHO, you can't beat a Geissele for that (or much else) in the way of ar-pattern fcg's, just depends on which version is preferred...(e.g. hs-dmr, sd-e, etc.)

I'll toss a second vote for the Geissele. I particularly like the SSA-E.
Pretty sure I even saw it on sale somewhere cheaper than either of the two you linked to.

^^^ This, That said, I played with a Trigger Tech while at the Gap Grind, and was pretty impressed, but I'll stick to Geissele, depending on the application, I like the High speed National Match, and the SD-E

Really like my LaRue MBT, paid $99 for it last time they were running the deal. I'd bet it'll be that cheap again around black friday.

I too would vote for Geissele.

I use the SSA-E in all of mine after using numerous other brands and types. I prefer the double stage for sure; but the precision that Geissele builds them too is not comparable to for AR's/Semi-autos. They have a sale going on right now for and not sure what they'll run for Black Friday. Pretty sure this is fairly close to the deal they run at Shot Show at the table prices.
I have one or more of every trigger Geiselle offers. The National Match is my clear favorite.
Another vote for geissele

Geiselle,
But with the additional advice of picking the correct trigger based on your intended application. He covers every application from National Match target shooting to duty use.

Palmetto State Armory has them on sale right now, $179.99

Even cheaper here. These are Brownells branded version of ssae and s3g. One clip is a little different, and doesn't have geissele ladder etched on it. These are also batch inspected rather than every single last unit hand inspected.
Code m3p for free ship i believe

Geissele makes very good durable triggers and I enjoy mine, especially in the slower/precision shooting modes. But I have others I prefer for various applications. For a mix of speed and precise work, I prefer the AR-Gold. I also really like the Jard.

Geissele
SDE
I dig the flat shoe.
Also can’t go wrong with the SD3G, though it’s not at all a 2stage feel

Is it worth it to spend an extra $45 to get the SSA-E over this one?
I see the code you have gives $10 off and free shipping!!
I'm no expert, the reading I saw said its the same as the SSA-E. It just drops some branding and man hours individually inspecting each one (and some kind of clip on it is different not affecting function) to cut cost.

I believe these are the run of ‘not so smooth’ giessele triggers. I thought it was a line of ‘seconds’ or blems.
I have heard they run just fine and with use (and the sandy grease/polishing compound trick) they break in to be indistinguishable from an ‘A grade’ giessele
