What's everyone using for optics on their AR pistols? I'm about to finish my first build of a 10.5" AR pistol, and would like to know some good suggestions for optics? I've got a set of flip up sights to put on it, but I tend to like a reflex/prism or good red dot (old eyes prefer reflex/prism/holo over dots which tend to be blurry).
Since this is my first AR pistol, I'm not familiar enough with running them to know what's best for eye relief, line of sight, etc.
Purpose is a general 'truck gun' and range shooting. Nothing fancy or 'operator'. Thanks!

On my Colt 10.5" I initially ran an EOTech on it back in 2010-2011 in Baghdad. After I'd lose my zero every month with it I switched to a 1.5x Acog which was the only other option. I've ran that since then and love the slight magnification to enhance targets slightly but not be overwhelmed for close shots. I don't notice any change in the speed of which getting on target but it is paramount that you use both eyes open for closer targets and fast engagements.
At home, I'm be hard pressed to not run a 1-6x SWFA on it which is what I run on my truck gun now. I don't have the option of a scope for my work gun so it is what it is. Obviously I'm a huge fan of having magnified optics on my rifles but I feel a lot stronger and more capable with them to enlarge targets, better target ID, and accuracy.
Settled on Burris AR-332
Illumination if you want it, but still has a black circle and dot if your battery dies.
3X good for close to medium range.
Rugged and waterproof.
Not the lightest, but not too heavy.
Not too expensive.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions, as always! I found a screaming deal on the Romeo5 so I grabbed it this morning.
Hoping there will be some great black Friday deals so I can try some of the other suggestions for my other rifles and next pistol build!
