View Full Version : Craigslist Login WTH!
Craigslist now requires a login to list anything nd you have to give them your phone number for confirmation. Next will be the fees.[Rant1]
I don't blame them, maybe it will help cut out the fraud, theft, and illegal activites people use Craigslist for.
I'm suprised that Craigslist hasn't done this already, AND charged a fee. It takes alot of time and money to run and maintain the computer network for this nationwide service.

I have always wondered how they made any money to run the site and pay employees. They don't have any advertising.

Yeah, I've had mixed results with craigslist. I found an excellent tennent to rent my house in the Springs, but when I put my Scout for sale there, I met nearly every weirdo in Pueblo county. Not to mention all the spam ads and re-direct responses. I think doing a little verification on their part is not a bad thing. I hope they don't start charging a fee though. If you ask me, thats what killed newspaper classified ads, the ridiculously high fees they charge. I like to read Best of craigslist. There is some seriously funny crap there.[ROFL1]
They are owned by EBAY, they could go forever and not charge fees, and the login is only for listing not for replies, so I doubt it will cut down on any of the spam.
the phone call is automated. never had a problem selling a ton of stuff there.
